About this listen
Ex-Navy SEAL Jack Kirkland surfaces from an aborted underwater salvage mission to find the Earth burning. Solar flares have triggered a series of gargantuan natural disasters. Earthquakes and hellfire rock the globe. Air Force One has vanished from the skies with America’s president on board.
Now, with the US on the narrow brink of a nuclear apocalypse, Kirkland must pilot his oceangoing exploration ship, Deep Fathom, on a desperate mission miles below the ocean’s surface. There devastating secrets await him - and a power an ancient civilization could not contain has been cast out into modern day. And it will forever alter a world that’s already racing toward its own destruction.

Great Story
I’ve been a big fan of James Rollins the past 16 years. His stories never disappoint. I’ve read many books, and this is the first audiobook i’ve listened to. The story was great... as always. Never a dull moment.. each minute grips your attention. Imagine this story as a movie! Wow it would be great. My only complaint would be the reader of the story.... at one point in the book he gets his voices for the characters mixed up in conversation. And it was annoying how he voiced the female characters of the book... he made their voices sound like meek weakling females... when I think they were meant to sound like strong confident fearless women. I just was not a fan of how he made their voices sound and the way they said things. It was irritating because that wasn’t at all how i’d picture them based on the story. Overall it was a great story.... but could have been read by someone who doesn’t make women’s speaking voices sound so meek.
