Publisher's Summary

In the mangroves of Belize, something ancient lies hidden beneath the roots. And when it surfaces, so too will one of man's baser inclinations. The root of all evil: greed.

Boone Fischer and Emily Durand have enjoyed months of quiet on the tiny island of Caye Caulker. After surviving Hurricane Irma and a mountaintop madman, the two divemasters have finally begun to relax. Big mistake.

Following on the fins of the best-selling thrillers Deep Shadow and Deep Cut, this third Caribbean action-adventure thriller in The Deep Series takes the listener on a whirlwind tour of Belize. From the offshore cayes to distant lagoons, from tropical rivers to jungle ruins lost in time, Boone and Emily race to untangle themselves from a deadly plot that threatens to shatter their lives.

What the critics say

"High Adventure Under Pressure! Nobody does underwater action like Nick Sullivan." (Cap Daniels, best-selling author of the Chase Fulton Novels)

"Realistic And Suspenseful. 5 out of 5 stars! Sullivan is able to bring an insane amount of realism to his books that make them jump off the page. The emotional attachment I have to these characters keeps growing with each book. Each story they become more and more real. Another great addition to the series...the setting, characters, and suspense were all phenomenal. One of the best things with having a professional narrator write his own books is that he is able to narrate them as well, and is able to add that bit of depth to the performance that you wouldn't get if he didn't narrate it himself. Honestly, his narration of Emily is almost better than Boone. Part of it is the writing, but there were numerous scenes that had me in stitches and that was mainly due to the combination of Sullivan's writing and narration." (Brian's Book Blog)

"If you are one who adores well-written and expertly researched action adventures which can stand alongside the excitement and thrills of an Indiana Jones movie, you will want to have a listen to this new audiobook. As I have said in my previous reviews of Mr. Sullivan's works, I find that he provides a level of edutainment (education and entertainment) not often delivered from other authors I have listened to. Mr. Sullivan started as a narrator with his deep and smooth voice, and from there branched out into writing. His ability to both write and narrate is what makes these books in this series worth listening too. He knows how to bring the characters to life because he created them, and he also knows why they act the way they do in specific situations." (Quella Reviews)

So Satisfying!

This third book in the Boone-Emily series of tropical paradise diving adventure tales was every bit as good as the first two. This time, the couple find themselves in and around Belize. The atmosphere is tangible as they encounter crocs, snakes, another Brit, a Yank, Mayan treasure, extreme cave diving and some new locals such as a cutie potlicker. What's a potlicker? Well.... listen to the book! Emily gave me some laugh out loud moments and a craving for pineapple danishes. Boone gave us some cool capoeira. All in all, great fun and adventure. I can't wait for the next one! I hope all these books get made into movies. Narration was absolute perfection, but I could hear the recording equipment, which at times took me out of the story. Hope it's fixed in the next one.
