Polizeiobermeister Frassek will Berlin für eine Weile hinter sich lassen und beim Wandern die Steiermark genießen. Schon allein, um seinen letzten nicht ideal verlaufenen Fall zu vergessen. Als der alte Kroisleitner tot ist, ist das ganze Dorf in Aufruhr. Immerhin war er schon 104 Jahre alt, aber immer noch bei bester Gesundheit. Frassek wird unfreiwillig in den Fall reingezogen. Zunächst als Verdächtiger, doch schnell ermittelt er selber in diesem kuriosen Fall.
