About this listen

After almost a year since Regan came to the world Murgin, danger has followed him like a loyal dog. Threats are the main theme of his life as a dungeon core, and every time he deals with one, another appears to take its place. Now with the struggles of the Beneath Races, as well as the mysterious peril coming from space, he might not have time to solve all his current problems before one of them blows up in his face. He is not without any recourse, though, and he has a plan to meet the dangers. The question is will he be able to succeed?

Louella has more power than ever before, but a part of her is worried that it will not be enough to protect the people she loves and cares for in Vaihdetta. That does not stop her from working to make sure her people are happy and protected. Even if it means descending into the horror and war-torn Beneath. She has a mission, and she is determined that to fulfill it.

new narrator is meh

every one sounds the same and also why is she whispering the whole time? thank God the male voice was still the same so I could at least bare with it by skimming threw the female parts. hopefully this gets fixed by the next book or I'll have to give up on the story like I did with the ten realms when that booked changed narrators too

Another masterpiece

Always enjoy Matthew Peed's work and this was great and covered alot of ground in not alot of time with smooth progression.

Great story with questionable naration.

The story this time around focuses on the various threats around the world ranging from global to galactic but has some very strange moments such as calling out anti-vaxxers in a very ham-fisted way that instantly takes you out of the story. There is also a romance brewing between the main female protagonist and her bodyguard that comes of out nowhere and feels oddly forced. Some build up aside from a few (2-3) throw away lines would have made this much more bearable.

My largest problem with this book has to be any chapter that is narrated by Sierra Kline. I don't know if it's her style or her equipment but she is incredibly difficult to hear to the point of me turning any chapters voiced by her up by 25% compared to her counterparts and still struggling to understand what is going on. Each character also sounds very similar in these chapters and I lose track of who is supposed to be talking.

I have enjoyed the series so far and will most likely be back for the next book but I hope that some changes with be made to make it less immersion breaking and correct the misstep with this book's performance.

chapter 14 has a lot of weird audio gaps in it
