Publisher's Summary

A common-sense guide to living rich—instead of dying rich

Imagine if by the time you died, you did everything you were told to. You worked hard, saved your money, and looked forward to financial freedom when you retired.

The only thing you wasted along the way was—your life.

Die with Zero presents a startling new and provocative philosophy as well as practical guide on how to get the most out of your money—and out of your life. It's intended for those who place lifelong memorable experiences far ahead of simply making and accumulating money for one's so-called Golden Years.

In short, Bill Perkins wants to rescue you from over-saving and under-living. Regardless of your age, Die with Zero will teach you Perkins' plan for optimizing your life, stage by stage, so you're fully engaged and enjoying what you've worked and saved for.

You'll discover how to maximize your lifetime memorable moments with experience bucketing, how to convert your earnings into priceless memories by following your net worth curve, and find out how to navigate whether to invest in, or delay, a meaningful adventure based on your spend curve and personal interest rate.

Using his own life experiences as well as the inspiring stories and cautionary tales of others—and drawing on eye-opening insights about time, money, and happiness from psychological science and behavioral finance—Perkins makes a timely, convincing, and contrarian case for living large.

Good book, good lessons

I loved the book but I felt like there was a lot of filler. Would still suggest.

Too much talk for very little info

I finished the book and I realized, it could have been a 1h audiobook. Good point but too repetitive and too many unnecessary info. This is one of those cases where the author had 3 very good things to say but in order to have a book he had to balloon it. Good principle and useful content tho.

Interesting

Great concept, if you don't luv what you do for a career every day. As a business owner, that luvs going to work every day to interact with staff, it is a struggle to see both sides. But a great insight to, life is more than work. Don't forget to enjoy life as well. cheers

Changed my view

Enjoyed it. Changed my retirement calculations.

Highly recommend and should be recommended to more young investors out there that are chasing massive portfolios. This review has to be 15 words or more and I’m trying to hit it

greet insight

nice but a bit repetitive. This book however helped me a lot not feeling guilty for buying an experience instead of always saving money. I'd recommend this book.

wonderful listen

was recommended to me by a friend because as it turns out I share all kinds of life advice that could be lifted directly from this book! Good to know I’m not alone in my common sense conclusions about not letting money dictate how one lives their life

A must read for the “busy” entrepreneur

Definitely eye opening as similar to so many people, I have been solely focused on wealth accumulation, and never have a second thought to how much is enough, and when to start spending it.

Interesting different perspective to consider

Fresh ideas ideal for planning life and retirement. Contrarian approach memory dividend a smart concept that few consider in maximizing life experiences
