About this listen
Epic adventures and awesome Dinosaurs!
Three big books all in one great place.
Nate is the hardworking CEO of SouthernCool, an AC company in Florida. After years of toiling to get rich, he finally takes a well-deserved vacation to Australia. A chance encounter ties him to a gorgeous gal named Senna. Right as things between the two are heating up on the Great Barrier Reef, pesky aliens intervene.
Humanity is doomed, they tell him, destined to become extinct in the not-too-distant future. Nate and Senna are forced to compete for a spot on a human preserve. The competition turns out to be similar to a Real Time Strategy (RTS) 4x game. That means, in order to score points, you have to eXpand your empire, eXterminate your foes, and eXplore & eXploit your environment.

Excellent story
This is my second time through this story and I was still surprised throughout. I enjoyed the story and this could easily be made into a PG 13 story. I think it would be a good candidate to become a move.

Melodramatic Ecchii Science Opera
This is done pretty much in the same vein as "Gryph. the Griffon rider" series. As an action series I'd give it a 3.5 but the sex scenes are very predictable and short especially given the conservative author coupled with having a male narrator. Also the author barely accounts for real science when writing this and seems to randomly interject fantasy tropes. Ex; No real concept of gravity, nutrition or microbes actually work. Much of the book depends on alien tech "building" for the protagonist stuff that could be made or innovated themselves. No creedence is given to real R&D even tho the story revolves around a quest towards eventual colonization. Characters are numerous but mostly 1 dimentional or given a quick blurb of backstory as if at a speed dating session then either forgotten or mentioned by name chapters later as it they had been closely intergrated into the story. Lots of action scenes but the narative is ridiculously melodramatic, hyper masculine, and predictable.
Is this some kind of lowbrow erotic romance sub genre? I gotta wonder if I'm the wrong target audience as there seems to be too much testoserone and too little wit in these to be seriously erotic for me. It listens more like a low budget action movie with lots of T&A than as a rom com or harem porn or whatever. But I can see how if a woman listened she might get off on the hyper Dom alpha male narrative maybe? But then women don't usually go for harem stories so yeah.... Low budget action flick is my assessment. Just lots of cliched writing.

Not for me.
The main character comes of as a creepy old man, constantly engaging in behavior that would come off as rather overtly disgusting, and I watched the movie Splice in the theater and was able not to look away, so in terms of psychological thrillers, I think if the author repurposed the main character to a Buffalo Bill foil, he would have a truly disturbing antagonist that would be just as memorable.
The story crafting and character depth on display here makes the story telling tropes of the plumper needing to fix the pipes the works of Shakespeare in comparison. The opening interaction with the other main character could be summarized as the guy waving money around his body, in humble bragging way saying "I do alright, let me just leave my back account balance open,,, woops! Did you see that? how dare you madam, I am outraged by this intrusion, excuse me as I inappropriate engage in physical contact with this girl I met five minutes ago that would have me in jail in all but the most backwards of countries."
I gave the book a shot, couldn't finish it as it came off as some guy's power fantasy. In other words, I found very little merit in this book. Cue Vivaldi's Four Seasons ~ Spring to play me out of this review.

Worse audio book I have listened to on aubible
To date I have a total of over 240 audio books, so far this this the worse one by far. The character is for unknown reasons rich and sexy. I say unknown because ht claims to charge 150$ per hour but works on call, and somehow undercharges everyone, works a lot of hours, but when you work on call, even if you work 12 hours a way, you might not get any calls. 2 is then selected to run an empire for humans, but has never had an employee, has no idea how to run anything but a small business, is somehow going to lead all of mankind. All females see to want him, cause sure why not. the guy does not know how to negotiate or work out trades. Even taking into account this is a game, he comes across wolves that are so weak from starvation he see it is a better idea to kill them rather then save them/domesticate them into helping his empire grow. He continues to get things handed to him on a silver planter. Also the sex scenes are terribly written. There are no real challenges just set dressing, Do not bother.

the title
this book is a poor representation of this genre. the voice actors do a decent job, but no voice work can fix a poorly written story. do not spend time or energy on this series.

A conflicted mess
it's a harem story with one true love and gets very preachy about women's equality while making women into baby factories. Book one ends mid story with a hard reset that makes most of what's happened irrelevant.
I tried to listen to book 2 but gave up after a couple chapters.
The female narrator was good the male not so much.
