About this listen
The acclaimed debut thriller from the internationally bestselling author of The Liar’s Girl and 56 Days
The day Adam Dunne’s girlfriend, Sarah, fails to return from a Barcelona business trip, his perfect life begins to fall apart. Days later, the arrival of her passport and a note that reads “I’m sorry—S” sets off real alarm bells. He vows to do whatever it takes to find her.
Adam is puzzled when he connects Sarah to a cruise ship called the Celebrate - and to a woman, Estelle, who disappeared from the same ship in eerily similar circumstances almost exactly a year before.
To get answers, Adam must confront some difficult truths about his relationship with Sarah. He must do things of which he never thought himself capable. And he must try to outwit a predator who seems to have found the perfect hunting ground.

Great story
Love the build up of this story. The way it came together at the end was unpredictable. Good narration

Good times!
I picked this at random from the plus catalogue and thoroughly enjoyed it! Call me simple, but I found the plot twists pretty great! Also a surprising amount of laughs for a mystery/suspense/thriller, which could have a lot to do with the narrator’s interpretation of the main character. Go for it!

Loved this
A great mystery. It kept me guessing the whole way through. Would highly recommend. The narration was good too , who can resist an Irish accent.

Great story
The narrators were fantastic, and the plot was very interesting. I couldn’t stop listening. The surprise ending was a good end. I wanted there to be more.

Starts out okay, ends with straight-up exposition
I liked her style and the narrators were good. I got the sense partway through that the author was trying something she couldn't quite finish and I hoped I was wrong.
The closer it got to the end, the more the author relied on very straightforward exposition to finish everything up. And, as I had feared, the A plot and B plot never actually resolve together. Finally, what the author thinks is a gotcha ending is telegraphed way ahead of time.
Overall, though, I'll give this author another chance, as I did get some entertainment here.

Brilliant story!
Brilliant story but I’d like a better explanation of things in the end, not going to. Give it away

Overall good
It was a good plot over all, the ending wasn’t satisfying to me. There are too many plot holes that I can’t help but think about with how they ended it.

Very Good - almost
The main storyline was topical and well researched providing many intriguing twists. The narration was a great fit to the story. Unfortunately, I found the secondary storyline totally out of context and spoiled the overall flow. I'd like to give the author another chance but hesitant to find this is a general theme to her novels.

A wonderful read, had my attention right from the start, and the performances were as great as the story!
