About this listen
After his mother, the beloved Rebel Queen, is betrayed and murdered by her own faithless lords, young Maric becomes the leader of a rebel army attempting to free his nation from the control of a foreign tyrant. His countrymen live in fear; his commanders consider him untested; and his only allies are Loghain, a brash young outlaw who saved his life, and Rowan, the beautiful warrior maiden promised to him since birth.
Surrounded by spies and traitors, Maric must find a way to not only survive but achieve his ultimate destiny: Ferelden’s freedom and the return of his line to the stolen throne.

Amazing Story That Provides Context to the Games
I love the story and all of the context it provides to the video games.
While the narrator does voices well I found him to sound a bit dry, kind of like a news caster. Though that suits Loghain's character very well. I just imagined he was telling most of the story.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Great installation to Dragon Age Lore!
If you love Dragon Age and the lore, you will love this book. It gives more context and a background story of Loghain and Maric. I am finding the story rather enjoyable, but during fighting scenes the narrator speaks so fast. I can't process it and have to slow down the time, then speed it up again during normal narration.

Worth your time if you already LOVE Dragon Age
As a novel in general it's kind of entry level novel writing, but it's worth your time if you are interested in what transpired in the Dragon Age universe outside of the game. That's why I decided to listen rather than spend my full attention reading it myself. This one gives you better context of the characters Loghain and Maric. I personally hate both these characters but I love finding out more about the world in general. There are a lot of details that are better explained in writing.
I don't think any of it is necessary information for any DA game, so it's not a must read for DA fans. It's just in-depth context. It helps develop your imagination when getting into a fantasy universe and gets you wondering about little details in the game.

Phenomenal story, great reading
The only thing that's lame about this narration is some of the nouns unique to DA lore are mispronounced (astounding that nobody from the authors behalf thought to clarify) but a great listen, by chapter 2 I was emotionally invested

Damnit, do I like Loghain now?
As always with the BioWare team, the story was great. It really adds to the events of Origins and expands on Loghain's character.
I didn't love the narrator however, clearly no one had say them down and went over how things are pronounced, which was pretty immersion breaking. Idk how many times I, out loud, went omg it's MARE-IC or DAIL-ISH, etc. (Their pronunciation of Thaig also really bothered me).
over all I enjoyed it though.

Good if you like Dragon Age.
Story is good if you like DA. But rather cliche and overall not a top fantasy novel.

If you've played, listen to this.
Loved it with small exceptions. Some of the pronunciation is wrong and the narrator used the wrong accent for orleisians. But otherwise I'm very happy with this audiobook.

Great story, strange narration.
I'm enjoying the story a lot, my only issue is the narrator pronounces things oddly. I was willing to ignore the way he says "Maric", when it should be pronounced like "Mare-ic", but to pronounce "Dalish" as "Dollish"? I mean, did they even do any rehearsals? No one thought to tell him he was saying it all wrong?? Tbh, it kinda ruins the immersion a bit.
