missing chapters, audio bugs & slightly painful plot in the first 40 hours make this a difficult to enjoy adventure

I am writing this only 40 hrs in, I may update this more if I decide to continue listening but hear me out.

this is a reasonable value for an incredibly long adventure but there are somethings that just made it unsatisfactory this far in. here are a few points.

1st missing chapters, at least once every 10hrs or so 1 or more chapters are completely missing and a duplicate chapter plays again in its place. you are often left completely lost as whole scenes have vanished and completely spoils even moments without tension let alone when it happens mid altercation.

2nd audio issues, while the performance of the voice actor has a great deal of range allowing you to pick your way around multi-person conversations the snippets of music thrown in then immediately dropped are a jarring experience. long pauses for chapter breaks had be checking my device to see if I had some how stopped the book only for the chapter announcement to make me revise I had just been listing to dead air for far too long.

3rd unfortunately the plot is a weak point as well. characters who seem interesting are painfully 1 note, friends are killed in a matter of a few sentences and the MCs hardly even bat an eye and maybe worse characters who want to say "thanks or hello" have whole chapters dedicated to assaulting the protagonist in what feels like a near lethal combat which is bloody and obviously wounding but simply forgive with a quick sorry.

oh and the dues ex machina of magic items that come out of nowhere to solve masically every problem definitely feel forced as well as enemy characters killing everyone except the MCs for no clear reasons given how caususly death is used as a plot device but who knows maybe the secrets to my plot concerns are found in the missing chapters mentioned earlier but I doubt it.

if you need something to listen to there is better and worse, with the audio and missing chapters fixed I can certainly see raising my rating but there are other good audiobooks out there too.
