Publisher's Summary
Lose yourself in a romance that will hold a permanent place in your heart long after you finish. See why over a million listeners have fallen in love with the Driven series....
Colton Donavan lives on that razor thin edge toward out of control. Whether it’s on the track or off of it, everything he wants is at his fingertips: success, willing women, media attention, adrenaline.
Everything that is, but me. I’m the exception to the rule. The woman he can’t seem to win over.
What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?
How can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past?
How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there's someone worthy of her love? I know I can't be what she needs, so why can't I just let her go?
We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

These two books have a lot of potential but I found there were areas of concern / room for improvement. I know many readers wouldn't be bothered by my concerns. Nevertheless, it's important I write an honest review so others in my 'lane' of thinking are aware. Firstly, the beginning of the second book contains specific descriptions of childhood sexual abuse so trigger warning for those who may be concerned about this. Secondly, broaching the subject of abuse is one thing but neither of the books attempt to resolve the issue of said abuse in a healthy way from the hero's point of view.. This may be different in the following books but i don't know. Thirdly, to make a very long story short, the first book would be greatly improved if the writing was tighter. Fourthly, there were two 'closed door' descriptions of sexual relations and this is unfortunate. Unfortunate because it was a missed opportunity to efficiently / effectively develop the two main characters and hold the reader's / listener's attention more so in book one. Yet, there are layers of writing that skillfully build the characters and there relationship in subtler ways. Also, the dialogue is well written except for one area of text in the beginning of book 1. It's important to note that as the series progresses the writing improves and the reader / listener is treated to deeper layers of the characters emotions and a more exciting story line.
