About this listen

Cozy up with this warm, festive rom com novella about being true to your heart, the friendships that define us, and the irresistible pull of holiday magic.

Last year, Rachel Bacharach met the man of her dreams at a Hanukkah party — and then her outgoing best friend Tamara swooped in and “called” Oz Caplan for herself. It’s a typical outcome for the dependable, bookish Rachel, who is never able to extinguish the spark she immediately felt for Oz. But being secretly in love with her best friend’s boyfriend all year hasn’t been easy.

As this year’s party approaches, Oz and Tamara break up. It’s a worst-case scenario when Oz asks Rachel to help him write Tamara love letters to win her back in time for their Hanukkah anniversary. Rachel’s been writing love letters to Oz in her journals for a year; she knows all the words he would need. But will Rachel be able to hide her true feelings from Oz any longer? And might this year’s party finally be Rachel’s chance to trust her heart and put everything on the line for love?

A best friend stolen love

Rachel meets Oz at a Hannakah party and gets locked outside on a balcony. Unfortunately, her best friend steals him and ends up together. A year later they break up and her best friend asks her to stay with Oz as he hurt his leg and to help him through the breakup.

Oz realizes during the week she stayed with him he loved Rachel and not Tamara.

A wonderful listen and a must-listen.

Happily Suprised

Enjoyed these two christmas books, I listened to them out of order but they were still good. The jewish traditions were great, it was a nice change. The same group of charaters in both make it interesting.

Annoying Story, Great performance

Spoiler Ahead......The relationship dynamics are wierd. I for one wouldn't have my best friend's boyfriend or ex boyfriend for me ever, knowing they have had sex... I couldn't ever get that image out of my head... And the male protagonist in this story is plain Annoying! I found this listen very annoying... like listening to high school kids talk about their hormonal crushes...

Great narrators! They brought to life this charming tale. I enjoyed all of the hanukah traditions weaved into the narrative too.

Laugh out loud funny!

I may not be jewish but the humor translates! A light and entertaining story with top notch narration.

It was ok

There were some good moments but overall so muuuch pining and telling us the character is in love without showing us how it happened. I find this book didnt follow one of the most important rule of writing: show, don't tell.

Cute Hanukkah read

We all knew what would happen in the end, but was a cute story getting there, Seeing Oz grow and them come together in a light short listen.
Love that this was not a Christmas story with out bashing the holiday

This way messed up not a fan!

You you meet a cute guy at a holiday party and right away have butterflies and think I would want to date him we have great chemistry… but then he meets your hotter best friend and they end up dating for a year! (So the guy is obviously very superficial

Then they break up and you have been secretly in love with him all year and your best friend convinced you to move in with him for a week because he broke his leg. All while trying to help him win back your best friend.

In the end he realizes he no longer wants the best friend but you, your best friend comes back from her trip and and says she knew all along she loved him and you have her blessing ti be with him.
Yuck 🤢 this is just messed up your best friend has been sleeping with him for a year (apparently knowing you were in love with her boyfriend) one week after break up you jump into a relationship with him like sloppy seconds!

The guy is an idiot, the friend group all apparently were in on it knowing she loved him but he had picked the hotter friend. Have some self respect!
You deserve better!
