About this listen
Book 2 in the Farsight series.
The T'au Empire has long been plagued by the brutal orks—and Commander Farsight will see them destroyed. As his obsessive war against the greenskins escalates, other forces are at work, driving Farsight to an encounter that will change his view of the universe, the T'au Empire...and himself.
Listen to it because....
Discover the real story behind the defining moment of Commander Farsight's lif—and witness his struggles as he is torn between the Greater Good and a hideous truth about the nature of the galaxy.
The Story:
High Commander Farsight, fresh from his victory against the Imperium over the Damocles Gulf, looks to his borders and finds his old enemies—the savage and warlike orks—threatening to ravage the heart of the T’au Empire. Farsight’s obsessive crusade soon sees him locked in an escalating conflict with the greenskins, yet the hero of the Fire Caste will stop at nothing until their infestation is purged.
Foul forces are at work in the shadows, however—forces that will do whatever they can to see Farsight's military genius fall upon the daemon-haunted world of Arthas Moloch. Can Farsight stand in the face of the terrible truths he discovers there, and will the T’au Empire stand with him?

It all comes together
First off, major props to the VA, every voice was distinct from the other, the bombastic Orks all sounded different and had their quirks, Tzeench demons felt knitting and sinister, khorne demons reveled in their bloodshed, Farshight was always recognizable, you could tell when it was a water caste, earth caste, or ethereal even before any descriptions were given. honestly worth a listen from that alone.
The story ties up all the bows that were left from the last book, then leaves a stepping off point for more stories to step in and continue the journey.
highly recommend.

Overall pretty decent conclusion to the Farsight’s story
I’m excited to see where the story goes from here. The story ends on a conclusion that, if nothing else follows, feels satisfying, yet open to further additions. I hope we see more from this corner of the galaxy, but perhaps from another POV, or at least, see a time skip, to give the characters time to grow away from the readers view.

Fantastic.
I hope there is a book 3 coming some day. Farsight is an easy character to like and get behind. His sub commanders are cool too. The Inquisitor gue vesa subplot was an unexpected joy that I want to see more of. Both Andrew Wincott and Helen McAlpine were a delight to listen to. the daemon interest in the Tau and specifically Farsight was a good way to tie in the grim dark reality of the setting into the clean cut hopeful worldview of the Tau va. how many other fledgling empires has chaos guided to ruin before the Tau? The changer of Ways is such a B.
