About this listen
The homicide cop with a passion for justice returns in the captivating crime thriller series by the #1 New York Times bestselling author.
It was a glittering event full of A-listers, hosted by Eliza Lane and Brant Fitzhugh, a celebrity couple who’d conquered both Hollywood and Broadway. And now Eve Dallas has made her entrance—but not as a guest. After raising a toast, Fitzhugh fell to the floor and died, with physical symptoms pointing to cyanide, and the police have crashed the party.
From all accounts, he wasn’t the kind of star who made enemies. Everyone loved him—even his ex-wife. And since the champagne cocktail that killed him was originally intended for Eliza, it’s possible she was the real target, with a recently fired assistant, a bitter rival, and an obsessed fan in the picture. With so many attendees, staff, and servers, Eve has her work cut out determining who committed murder in the middle of the crowd—and what was their motivation. As one who’s not fond of the spotlight herself, she dreads the media circus surrounding a case like this. All she wants is to figure out who’s truly innocent, and who’s only acting that way…
A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

I love the author but
I do not like the narrator at all in this series.
I've read almost all of the "In Death" series and spent my credits on these 2 I haven't read in hopes of increasing my enjoyment, but the narrator was AWFUL. She is almost monotone, her characters lack inflection, the accents she gives them is laughable. I can not stand to listen to them and I'm very dissapointed for Nora Robert's. I will not be wasting any more of my time or credits on these. I'll just buy the books.

Very satisfactory
Susan Erickson once again gives a stellar performance. As the story flows by I forget she is there and the personalities of the characters stand out.

Very short
I felt this book was shorter than others, and the plot simpler. I missed the personal interactions (side stories) between friends that is usually included.

Enjoyed the book immensely and of course the excellent performance of Susan Erickson, her narration is always spot on.
Enjoyed as usual but missed some of the key sideline characters such as Mavis but was very happy that Rourke didn’t stick his nose in and steal the thunder.

One of the Best in the Series
I really like how this one played out. Without spoilers, Roarke has less involvement, so it makes the whole thing feel more like a cop story. Love it!

A great listen!
Some things I hear aren’t the way I interpret the characters or the current mood/situation, for inflection or resulting nuance, but I’ve come to love the characters Susan’s built on top of the writing from Nora Roberts. I always can’t wait for the next one!

Another great read
JD Robb never lets me down. This series would make great TV. What actress would you like to see play Eve?
