I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this story, but I was pleasantly surprised by its persistence in winning me over. The main characters slowly grew on me more and more as the adventures unfolded.
Kasta Krane is the lead female character. She is a wise-cracking, treasure hunter who is fearless and genetically advanced. Her partner in the adventure to find a legendary sword of power is Sir Dresco Norte, a powerful warrior knight in armour.
Together, the bickering duo go through many exciting adventures along the way in this quest-driven story. There are plenty of interesting creatures and fantasy elements throughout, along with a villain who is always on their trail, trying to stop them.
I enjoyed the variety of scenes which served the story well in not letting it get boring. I listened to the audiobook version of the story and found the performance by the narrator to be excellent. I enjoyed the growing friendship of Kasta and Dresco as the author continued to add to their depth.
I recommend this book to fans of fantasy and the old west.
