About this listen

Bowhunter and ultramarathoner Cameron Hanes narrates his audiobook with guest appearances from Joe Rogan and David Goggins. Listen in to push beyond your physical limits and improve yourself by following Hanes's lifelong philosophies and disciplines.

“It’s all mental.”

I say this all the time, and it’s true.

If you believe you can do it, you can.

We all have virtually limitless potential.

Our bodies are capable of so much more than what we ask of them.

Take off the mental handcuffs, get out there, and start on your way today.

What is your passion? You can become better at it.

Committing yourself to fitness only fuels your beliefs.

You gotta believe to achieve.

Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills. He would need the stamina and strength that could only come from an athletic training regimen of long-distance running and heavy-weight lifting. And every day for more than thirty years, Cam has put in the work, building miles and muscles, pushing through pain with a single-minded focus on the only goal worth having—besting himself time and again.

Part memoir, part motivational manifesto, Endure reveals how Cam—a self-professed average guy—put himself through the paces to live the life of an expert bowhunter, respected writer, and family man. With discipline, sacrifice, resilience, a hard work ethic, and a belief in his own capabilities, Cam not only accomplished his dreams but continues to surpass them. There is no secret to his success except relentless determination and loyal dedication to his own self-worth.

If Cam can do it, we all can. Everyone has what it takes to endure adversity so we can rise above average, be the best we can be, and enjoy living life to the fullest.

Mediocre Book, Impressive and Accomplished Author

"Endure" by Cameron Hanes is a book about the author's personal journey as an endurance athlete and his philosophy on pushing through physical and mental barriers to achieve success. While the book offers some interesting insights into the world of endurance sports, it falls short in several areas.

One of the main issues with the book is that it feels disjointed and poorly organized. The chapters jump between Hanes' personal experiences, his training methods, and his motivational philosophy, without a clear sense of how these pieces fit together.

Another issue with the book is that Hanes' writing style can be repetitive and overly simplistic. He often repeats the same points multiple times, and his language can feel clichéd and formulaic.

Despite these flaws, the book does have some strengths. Hanes' personal experiences as an ultra-runner and bowhunter are compelling, and he provides some interesting insights into the mental and physical challenges of endurance sports. Additionally, his emphasis on the importance of mental toughness and perseverance is inspiring and may resonate with readers who are seeking motivation to push through their own challenges.

Overall, "Endure" is a mediocre book that offers some interesting insights into the world of endurance sports, but falls short in terms of organization and writing style. While it may appeal to fans of Hanes or readers who are interested in endurance sports, it is unlikely to be a standout in the crowded field of sports memoirs and motivational self-help books.

Awe inspiring!

I absolutely loved this book. Cameron’s approach to life and how we should all live our lives is inspiring. Strive to do more than your best at all times no matter the consequences. Be an honest trustworthy human being always! Good times and bad. Push yourself beyond where you believe your limits are! You never know what you will achieve. The part where he talks about if he messed up his kids or not? We all go through that! I believe the harder we are (but still showing love) on our children the better human beings they turn out to be!
I would honestly recommend this book to anyone! I can’t say enough about this book!

Love it!

It’s good to hear Cam speak his own words, and this is the ultimate listen if you are a runner, Hunter, human.

Appreciate the vulnerability Cam!

What a great listen.

Captivating from beginning to end. this listen was eye opening, emotional, and unforgettable. I am not a bow hunter myself but the way Cameron talks about it makes me feel normal about my own obsession and passion. just like David says at the end, I used to feel alone out here, now I know I'm not.

Inspiring and endearing

Cam tells his story in a humble, and vulnerable fashion. He embodies the stoic traits many leaders have preached or been praised for, he shares mindsets and experiences that have strengthened these mindsets, David Goggins came to mind a lot while reading this, both individuals are very unique, but share a similar philosophy to life.

good book.

I liked the book. The only problem I had with it was that every now and then there would be a repeat of phrase or a awkward silence. I would guess that was more of a problem during the editing process. but I liked it and definitely recommend the book.

Excellent no fluff reminder how to live

This book needs to get in the hands of people that don’t read these kinds of books. Cameron Hanes is a stud, yet loves a perfectly normal life. It truly begs the question, what are most of us making excuses for?

A motivating listen

Found the author and story to be one of perseverance and one foot in front of the other. We all have our ups and downs, it is how you deal with the downs. Cameron is just like most of us, pushing ahead as best he can and provides good examples of how to fight through the downs or as the book is called Endure. Going to listen to a second time!
