Excellent

Very thorough in background, practices, and in providing resources. I will enjoy going through this book again.

No way this is not narrated by an AI

I swear to god. the more I listen to this book the more I’m sure it’s narrated by an AI. the pronunciation is so unnatural and choppy I can’t even pay attention to the content itself.

Sadly, extremely outdated and irrelevant

Unfortunately, I hate to give such a wonderful and impactful author such a horrible review, but this stuff is old, outdated, and references several very poor sources within the modern Asatru community. Paxson has surely moved far beyond this very early work, and no longer associates with many of those discussed within, such as Steve McNallen or Edred Thorsson(Stephen Flowers), the odinic rite, and many organizations referenced. The Troth has long since undergone many changes to step directly away from these people who later became pillars of folkish communities that represent the absolute worst of modern heathenry, or who emulate their practices directly after the christian church. I was surprised to see this up on Audible.

As far as the production itself, I also found the narration personally unbearable. Oh well.
