About this listen
In the New Pacific Alliance's post-apocalyptic ruins, Cora, an orphan with latent powers, navigates a world where zombies blur the line between human and monster. Trained in martial arts, she's unprepared for the chaos unleashed by a zombie infection that destroys her simple life and awakens her ability to turn mundane objects into "Ethereal Artifacts"—powerful weapons sought by shadowy foes.
Forced into the heart of a crumbling society, Cora, alongside a mysterious ally bound to her destiny, battles to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and her own extraordinary fate. From an unsociable outcast to a confident warrior, Cora's journey is filled with danger, transformation, and a quest for truth. Amidst the devastation, she and her companions confront the darkness within their city and themselves, making choices that will forever alter their world.
"Ethereal Awakening," the first book in the "Ethereal Artifacts" series, offers a gripping blend of dystopian despair, post-apocalyptic peril, and the power of determination. Perfect for fans of strong female protagonists and epic adventures in shattered landscapes.

Post Apocalyptic story best suited for young adult
Post Apocalyptic story best suited for young adults
This book had some delightful surprises, and while it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, there were some valuable takeaways. I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator's smooth voice enjoyable, though at times, it felt more like a reading than a performance.
The cover artwork caught my eye, particularly the well-done icy blue colours. I appreciated the unique take on zombies and especially liked the cockroach zombies.
Although I was anticipating a grittier storyline compared to "Hunger Games" due to the zombie element, the book's relative tameness makes it an excellent choice for younger readers. I did wish for more detailed fight scenes to paint a more vivid picture of the struggle and chaos that was taking place.
Overall, with a bit more thorough editing and polishing, I believe this book has great potential. I look forward to reading more from this author and experiencing her fantastic imagination in future works.
