About this listen

Instant Number-One Best Seller

A gripping new thriller by the author of the instant best seller Wherever She Goes.

Sometimes there's no use running from your past....

Genevieve has secrets that no one knows. In Rome she can be whoever she wants to be. Her neighbours aren't nosy; her Italian is passable; the shopkeepers and restaurant owners now see her as a local, and they let her be. It's exactly what she wants.

One morning, after getting groceries, she returns to her 500-year-old Trastevere apartment. She climbs to the very top of the staircase, the stairs narrowing the higher she goes. When she gets to her door, she puts down her bags and pushes the key into the lock....

...and the door swings open.

It's unlocked. Sometimes she doesn't lock it because break-ins aren't common in Rome. But Genevieve knows she locked the door behind her this morning. She has no doubt.

She should leave, call the police. What if someone is in her apartment, waiting for her? But she doesn't.

The apartment is empty, and exactly as she left it, perfectly tidy and not a thing out of place...except for the small box on her kitchen table. A box that definitely wasn't there this morning. A box postmarked from the US. A box that is addressed to "Lucy Callahan."

A name that she hasn't used in 10 years.

Edge-of-your-seat riveting, K.L. Armstrong's new book will keep you thrilled until the very end.

Keeps you on your toes.

This story had so many twists and turns. It was really enjoyable to listen to and the narrator was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Stellar storytelling!

As usual, Kelley’s storytelling draws us in and keeps us mesmerized from beginning to end.

I am not a fan of a narrative story

The premise of the story was okay however, the story was too long. Would have been better as a short story. I also did not like the fact that the story unfolded as a narration by the protagonist, Lucy, who was full of angst and making the same mistakes over again. It made Lucy hard to like.

Great Story!

This is a fast paced, tense story, but also light and easy to finish. excellent character development, and it works as a stand alone read. I enjoyed it very much.

Plot is a bit convoluted

Story of girl on the run is implausible but some characters are generally interesting. Especially that of Marco.

I liked the ending the most

I had a bit of a hard time near the beginning with some bad decisions the main character made. I wasn't convinced someone would actually make the decisions that were made. The ending was nice and saved the story.

Really enjoyed this book!

Once again Kelley Armstrong has wonderfully fleshed out main characters who are interesting and likeable. I enjoyed the story and would love to see Gen/Lucy and Marco in another book!

Struggled with this one.

Not really my kind of book but nice ending. I was glad I did listen to the end.

Enjoyed the story. A little predictable, However, nice characters and over all development. Good beach story.
