About this listen
From the bestselling author of Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, a fiendishly fun locked room (train) murder mystery that "offers a tip of the hat to the great Agatha Christie novel while at the same time being a modern reinvention of it" (Nita Prose) -- perfect for fans of Richard Osman and Anthony Horowitz
When the Australian Mystery Writers’ Society invited me to their crime-writing festival aboard the Ghan, the famous train between Darwin and Adelaide, I was hoping for some inspiration for my second book. Fiction, this time: I needed a break from real people killing each other. Obviously, that didn’t pan out.
The program is a who’s who of crime writing royalty:
the debut writer (me!)
the forensic science writer
the blockbuster writer
the legal thriller writer
the literary writer
the psychological suspense writer
But when one of us is murdered, the remaining authors quickly turn into five detectives. Together, we should know how to solve a crime.
Of course, we should also know how to commit one.
How can you find a killer when all the suspects know how to get away with murder?

A Worthy Sequel
I thoroughly enjoyed both "Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone" and this sequel. Barton Welch is Ernest Cunningham, he just is. The narration is so well done. With both this book and the previous one, there were bits of the mystery that I figured out along the way but not the ending. The ending was, at least in some aspects, surprising. There were also some laugh out loud moments. Finally, I have been to Australia twice and that probably adds to my enjoyment of the audiobook. Overall, an entertaining listen.

Fun and Twisty
Benjamin Stevensen I a genius writer. I love reading him on audiobook because he adds half chapters. They explain and recap bits you might not have remembered. He also adds some sass. The story itself twists and turns and gets you all confident you know the killer but you don't. Thinking you've solved it is just your ego playing tricks on you. My entire family awaits book 3!

Page turner… or constant listening I guess.
The book started off slow, but picked up speed as it went along. I absolutely loved it and hope there is more coming in this saga, even if Earnest hopes differently.

Keeps you intrigued from the start.
First book was so gripping. This one too but just a little less. Still very well written. Suspense, murder, humor, all in one thought provoking book.

Exciting sequel in the Ernest Cunningham series
This sequel is fun to read/listen with plot twists around every corner howeverr I feel like the book needed to be a bit longer to give the reader more time to explore the characters and build on the story

if you like mystery novels, do yourself a favor and skip this book
painfully boring, this isn't a mystery novel - it really belongs in it's own category
