Publisher's Summary
From New York Times best seller, Pepper Winters, comes the third and final book in Kas and Gem’s fated romance.
A stranger full of rage. A battle that has no victors. A decision that has to be made. And a future that has to be fought for. Scarred and learning how to live again, Kas might never be free of his darkness. A life full of triggers is no life at all. But a love full of pain can only grant heartache. Gem made the decision to stay, but at what cost? Kas made the choice to claim her, but will he ever be worthy? To love is the simplest choice. But healing is the hardest struggle of all. Final book in the Fable of Happiness Trilogy.

The Narrators Brought Total Emotion to the Words
Fables of Happiness, book 3, the epic conclusion for Gemma and Kas. We are immediately introduced to the mysterious stranger who appeared in book 2, and he is a magnificent character. Totally screwed up from his own tragic past but has an insight into Kassen that is bang on. Probably because he has been there himself and sees all those traits in Kas.
The story is heartbreaking and tragic, full of emotion which I am sure had monumental meaning for some people. I found the story to be excessively long, and I am happy I was listening to the audiobook while reading as this kept me in the story. The narrators were amazing, as they were in all of the Fables books, but I still had trouble envisioning this couple together. Kas’s lack of ability to give himself fully over to Gemma may have been a stumbling block for me. While he didn’t lack from trying, and in reality, I’m quite certain Pepper has hit the nail on the head regarding what victims would endure and live through afterward.
Pepper Winters is truly an amazing writer, and she has captured the tortured soul of Kassen, probably perfectly. She has delved into an area of our nasty world that quite possibly gets swept under the rug but exists nonetheless. So, because of the way she has depicted Kas, this character who endured such horrific acts against him, Pepper deserves 5 stars. Personally, I didn’t totally fall in love with this couple wholeheartedly. Gemma was an amazing person to help Kas become the man he finally became, especially with the way he treated her, and I enjoyed the story, I just didn’t “feel” the characters in my soul.
