A good thriller
I don’t usually go for thrillers, but heard this one recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Kept my attention.

Got my Attention & Held It
Grabbed me right from the get go. Fast paced, developed characters, realistic plot, unpredictable, and a spectacular performance by the narrator...who is a favourite! Highly recommended.

Fast fun fiction.
This book was fun. Exciting. Gripping. Well-written (as a means of catching and keeping reader attention). You won’t walk away with any greater understanding of how the universe works, but sometimes that’s just perfect, isn’t it? Go on! Enjoy yourself! 👍🏼👍🏼

So-so
not as good as I thought it would be and hard to keep my mind on the story. Too much back and forth.

Thoroughly Entertaining
I haven’t been this entertained by a book in a long time. I would find myself sitting in my car for ages after getting home because I couldn’t turn it off.

Problematic, Offensive and Mind-Numbing
I now know why the author was turned down so many times for this book. The prologue is a false promise… from there on, the story devolves into a dated, awful premise of villainizing the “other” despite her attempts to reassure the reader that that is exactly what she is NOT doing. I thought we moved past this tired, offensive trope back in the 90s, so I was hopeful that (based on the hype around this book) the story would redeem itself. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t!
