About this listen
She was the most beautiful British bauble in Europe’s jet-set playgrounds. Now she’s broke, furious, and limping down a backwoods road in an ugly pink southern belle gown.
He’s a tall, lean Texan who’s sure to regret stopping his car for this woebegone, surly Scarlett.
Meet Francesca Day and Dallie Beaudine, two incredible characters whose tangled love affair is at the heart of this ravishing New York Times best seller from award-winning author Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

dissapointment
There's just toomany things going on in this story, The back stories of all the women were nice in the begining and it was interesting to listen to, but at the end I felt like we would've understoon the characters and their motivations even without all the background stuff. There's just way too much going on and at the end it felt too flat.

Heart Wrenching
There are several 'threads' in this story that make the work unique and provide quality character development which exemplify our core human condition. However, I think the book took a bit too long to start pulling the 'threads' together. Also, there is one bedroom scene where a 3rd character enters and it is too much from a psychological point. It stretches the psychology of the book too far. Also, the book would have been improved and better 'balanced' if the heroine would have expressed more assertiveness in the last half of the book. Nevertheless, the book still held my attention throughout. The narrator understood the psychology of the book and upheld the quality character development. Nicole Poole did an excellent job apart from reading a couple of serious parts with an amused tone.
*Trigger warning...regarding some of the content.
