About this listen
He was only there for a business deal....
A couple of days...that was all it was supposed to take for property developer Roman Blackwell to decide if the strip of land just south of Dare, Montana, would be the perfect spot for his next luxury resort. He wasn’t interested in repairing his frayed relationship with his half brother who’d moved to the small town a few months earlier, and he definitely wasn’t interested in doing anything more than scratching an itch when he checked out the gay club near his hotel. But when his plans for a quick hookup are waylaid after he steps in to save a young man being brutalized, Roman finds himself building an emotional connection he never saw coming.
One bad decision changed everything....
College student Hunter Greene has spent 18 months trying to forget the one night he gave in to temptation and made a decision to hide one lie by telling another. But the guilt of knowing he shattered another young man’s life to protect his own secret shame is slowly destroying him, and he knows that soon even his spiral into a dangerous pattern of self-destructive behavior won’t be enough to keep his entire world from imploding. But the last thing he’s looking for is someone to save him.
But fate works in mysterious ways....
Forced to return to the town he grew up in, the last person Hunter expects to run into is the mysterious savior who changed everything with one soul-shattering kiss. While he can’t deny his attraction to Roman, Hunter knows that he’ll never be free to act on it and once Roman discovers the terrible secret he’s hiding, it won’t matter anyway.
Because some things just can’t be forgiven....
Trigger warning: This book does contain multiple possible triggers for some listeners. Specifics can be found by utilizing the "Look Inside" feature of the Amazon Kindle e-book. Please note that reading what triggers are included may cause spoilers.
Can be listened to as a stand-alone story - no cliff-hangers. This series crosses over with some of my other series, so for the most enjoyment, they should be listened to in order, but it is not required.

I really enjoyed this story. It stayed interesting and I would say its just as good if not better than book 3. Though book 1 still remains my favorite.
Roman is Grays (from book 3) brother and Hunter is the boy that kissed Fin (from book 1) in hs and ruined his life. U could read this book as a standalone without knowing the prior characters. However, if you do plan to read the others, this book will spoiler previous books. There are lots of recaps in it as the characters explain how they first met.
Roman was suppose to be making a quick trip to check out a potential business but he walks in on Hunter in a shocking situation and gets him out of it. From there the need to spend time with Hunter and protect him is strong so he hangs around. Ronan is gay and out.
Hunter is in the closet. So much so he won't even admit it to himself. His father is a violent homophobic bastard. Hunter hates himself so much for being not right/dirty/sinner (his father's words) and for the guilt of what he did to Fin that he has turned to self harm.
It doesnt really say Roman's age but Hunter is younger (lots of references to Roman saying hes so young). Hes 20 though so legal but theres an obvious age difference and it has a love and care and hurt and comfort feel. Seeing I love those tropes I really liked this story even if at times I felt angry and sad for Hunter. It's all the feels. They have great chemistry and a beautiful love story.
Great performance as always!

Stunning Age-Gap romance
5 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames
Narrator Michael Dean gave another sensationally entertaining performance. His delivery was beyond practical or theoretical improvement, meaning it was fucking perfect!
If you love your age-gap tropes, look no further. This is one hell of an appetizer. Pretty lost boy meets sexy rich property developer who turns out to be his saviour. Absolutely delightful and delectably, jam-packed with tension and drama. The plot moves fast, but it’s perfectly rounded and developed. We meet all the previous characters in the series, and some parts of the story main story line of the series gets woven into this book, filling little blanks from previous books, especially book one.
I definitely recommend it.
Happy Listening
