About this listen
Both of them want a relationship—but is beginning it a big mistake?
On the outside, twenty-seven-year-old Darcy Larsen is a pretty, put-together professional—but inside she’s falling apart. Eighteen months ago, she lost her fiancé in an accident she still blames herself for. After a successful transplant, her kidney disease seems to be in check, but she worries that her future children—if she has any—will also suffer from the same condition. And she’s overcome with indecision about finding her birth mother, discovering potentially devastating information, and hurting her adoptive parents.
Mechanic Carter Donovan seems to have everything going for him at first glance. Stunning good looks. A wicked sense of humor. And a heart of gold. But Carter’s seemingly perfect exterior hides a host of secrets. After a rough breakup and mounting medical bills from a medical emergency that left him drowning in debt, he doesn’t feel like the catch everyone says he is. Plus, he’s about to turn thirty—with no romantic prospects on the horizon.
When Darcy’s Lexus breaks down in her doctor’s parking lot, Carter appears on the scene to try to jump-start her car—and her heart. But despite their immediate connection right from the start, the two have perhaps too many obstacles to overcome. Carter questions if getting involved with Darcy will be his next big mistake. And Darcy wonders if she can ever move past her grief and guilt to embrace the gift of Happily Ever After that’s dangling in front of her.

Very educational and inspiring.

I won this audiobook by Amy Clipston. I had read a couple Amish books some time ago written by her, but I admittedly like this contemporary romance genre more.
I listened to half on a road trip to visit family and I finished it on the way back home. I really enjoyed the story a lot and I feel connected to the characters. I definitely recommend it!
The narrator, Melissa Moran, was new to me. She was mostly good in the general stuff, main characters, and even the male characters. Her voices for a couple of the moms (minor characters) were very sing-song and overdone/exaggerated. Sometimes she over-dramatized in other areas as well—at least for my taste.
For the most part I was satisfied with the narration but I’m not sure if I’d listen to something again with the same narrator.
The organ donor storyline was really interesting and I learned some things. There was also an estranged parent and bio-parent storyline that included a lot of raw emotion. I do wish there was more of a faith direction. There was no real talk of God or praying. It was more of a traditional worldview but no relationships with Christ.
I rated this novel with 4+ stars and I definitely think many will really enjoy it just as I did.

Learning to Live, a Second Chance
What an amazing story. I can't say how this book touched me as a recipient of a kidney 24 years ago. Amy has written an amazing love story, but not just about loving a partner, but also loving life, especially when you feel your life is over when you have kidney failure. The story shows the heart of Amy and Melisa did such an amazing job telling it. She put so much feeling in narrating Finding You that it came alive for me. When Carter felt he was worthless, Melisa put the emotion into her narration, when Darcy fell apart because she believed her misconceptions about her own life, Melisa was able to shoe that as well. What an amazing book. I recamend it to everyone who loves reading Amy's work, but especially with those struggling with receiving a donor organ whether it was a kidney or something. This book gives insight to how we can go on living after a transplant with some romance thron in as well. Thanks Amy for this heart-felt story that holds so much of you heart. Thanks Melisa for such a fantastic job of narrating Finding You. You really made it come alive.beli
