The next best thing than going to film school

A very comprehensive course backed with a case study to demo how to do it right for beginners. I listen to it a few time when I was driving and each time I pickup something new.

Ok

Some useful insights, but could have been a lot tighter. The use of his own draft screenplay is distracting and self-indulgent - mostly because it’s not very good (a point which he admits several times). His point seems to be to show the process of bad to better, but it largely doesn’t work. Other screenwriting books take great existing scripts and break them down to see why they work (and sometimes rephrase to show how they could have not worked). That approach would have been more useful here. I found myself pressing skip whenever her got into his own stuff just so I could get to the actual advice
