About this listen
Get out! Run! We must leave this place! They are going to destroy this whole place! Go, children, run first! Go now!
These were the final shouts nine-year-old Kim Phuc heard before her world dissolved into flames - before napalm bombs fell from the sky, burning away her clothing and searing deep into her skin. It's a moment forever captured, an iconic image that has come to define the horror and violence of the Vietnam War. Kim was left for dead in a morgue; no one expected her to survive the attack. Napalm meant fire, and fire meant death.
Against all odds, Kim lived - but her journey toward healing was only beginning. When the napalm bombs dropped, everything Kim knew and relied on exploded along with them: her home, her country's freedom, her childhood innocence and happiness. The coming years would be marked by excruciating treatments for her burns and unrelenting physical pain throughout her body, which were constant reminders of that terrible day. Kim survived the pain of her body ablaze, but how could she possibly survive the pain of her devastated soul?
Fire Road is the true story of how she found the answer in a God who suffered himself; a Savior who truly understood and cared about the depths of her pain.

This book was incredible!
I was a young girl when I saw this picture in my dad‘s newspaper. What an amazing thing to hear all she went through. I was spellbound by how much pain she endured and yet her grace was so overwhelming! If you are ever wondering about the why’s in your life, this is the book for you!

Humour, sincerity, humility
I found this to be a lively and well-paced recounting of an extraordinary life. Warmth exudes from the telling of even the most horrific experiences that lends credibility to Kim’s transformation in Christ and her peace.

Painful but powerful story
Real, true and well written life story. The author lets you lightly walk in her shoes. The narrator was fabulous and I will keep this one and listen to it again. Forgiveness is real!

Powerful example of forgiveness that everyone should read.
I think we all know that photo of the little Vietnamese girl running in pain and fear but to hear her story and to know that she has found peace and forgiveness because of Jesus is incredible.
Having heard this story, Kim's honestly in all of it, and how faith has lead to redemption is eye opening and really stirs your heart to think about your own life.

An interesting story
I struggled to finish the book because of the heavy religious content, however that was true to her story. So the book was good... it just had an angle that was lost on me. However if you have a spiritual side or can appreciate spirituality I highly recommend
