About this listen
Some dogs need a little help.
Some dogs are afraid, or excited, or reactive. Dogs that "don't listen" and "go crazy" don't live the lives we - or they - want.
Fired Up, Frantic, and Freaked Out can change that. Simple steps and an accessible, conversational tone from award-winning, internationally-known trainer Laura VanArendonk Baugh CPDT-KA KPACTP make calming the agitated dog not only possible, but pleasant.
In this book you'll learn how to achieve change in short, simple training sessions of a minute or less; maximize the effects of natural brain chemistry; know when to call in medical help; "clean up" unreliable behaviors in both overexcited sport dogs and pets at home; and recognize how fear, aggression, and excitement are variants of the same root problem.
The conversational tone is both informative and fun-very accessible, and it feels like the listener has a consulting trainer standing at her shoulder! Bring your dog from emotional to thoughtful, and enjoy a calmer, more enriched life with your best friend.

Story
Are you struggling to walk your dog or puppy? Do you feel stressed or overwhelmed with your dog right now? Is your puppy struggling with walks? Do you have a scared, nervous, or reactive dog? Does your dog get overexcited when you go for a walk? Have you got a dog that can’t go for a walk due to surgery or illness or old age? It might come as a surprise, but traditional "walks" are a human invention and aren't helpful for many of our dogs. Whether you want to help your own dog or you work with dogs, this book will show you alternatives to walks.

can a person be in love with a book? yes
An amazing read for dog owners and perspective dog owners of fearful, excited, aggressive or even just young dogs working through impulse control. this book was well written, well voice acted, comprehensive from the dog owners perspective without sounding condescending. I think a lot of amazing points about dog physiology are made here along with a detailed step by step instruction for a mat game a calming technique that has a broad range of applications if introduced correctly. I have trouble with focus but I listened to this to completion and I plan to revisit some of these chapters if needed. I've also recommended this to all my friends!!!!
