À propos de cet audio
A Warhammer Crime audio.
Murder in the neutral zone between Imperial and Adeptus Mechanicus territory sets Probator Symeon Noctis on a dangerous investigation.
Listen to it because: discover tensions between Imperial servants on Varangantua as an extremely odd pair of detectives seeks to solve a murder.
The story: born into riches, Probator Symeon Noctis attempts to atone for his past sins by championing the powerless of Nearsteel district. But the sprawling city of Varangantua is uncaring of its masses, and when a bisected corpse is discovered in the neutral zone between Nearsteel and the Adeptus Mechanicus enclave of Steelmound, Noctis finds himself cast into his most dangerous case yet.
Partnering with the tech-priest Rho-1 Lux of the Collegiate Extremis, Noctis is drawn into a murky world of tech-heresy, illegal servitors and exploitation that could end his career or his life.
Written by Guy Haley. Narrated by James Mcnaughton.

In the immense city of Varangantua, life is cheap, but mistakes are expensive. When Probator Agusto Zidarov of the city’s enforcers is charged with locating the missing scion of a wealthy family, he knows full well that the chances of finding him alive are slight. The people demanding answers, though, are powerful and ruthless, and he is soon immersed in a world of criminal cartels and corporate warfare where even an enforcer’s survival is far from guaranteed.

The Cadian Gate is broken, and the Imperium is riven in two. The might of the Traitor Legions, kept shackled for millennia behind walls of iron and sorcery, has been unleashed on a darkening galaxy. Among those seeking vengeance on the Corpse Emperor’s faltering realm are the Death Guard, once proud crusaders of the Legiones Astartes, now debased creatures of terror and contagion.

Excellent
It's excellently done. I hope there are more. This is one of the better Warhammer audiobooks I've listened to. I wasn't sure what to expect with the setting being just within the same city but it's equally as compelling and enjoyable as inquisitor or space marine stories. The main character is someone who wants to care and do the right thing in a city and broader setting that is basically indifferent, and it kinda gives things a fun anti hero/noir detective vibe. Well worth the time.
Unrelated to the audiobook content, even though the author's name is clearly Guy Haley in the cover art, audible.ca has it as Guy Hayley. Here and elsewhere this seems to be a somewhat common mistake made with his name. So if you end up enjoying this and seeking out more of his work, keep that in mind.
