About this listen

THE BEST-SELLING AUTHOR OF PITCH ANYTHING IS BACK TO FLIP YOUR ENTIRE APPROACH TO PERSUASION.

Is there anything worse than a high-pressure salesperson pushing you to say "yes" (then sign on the dotted line) before you're ready?

If there's one lesson Oren Klaff has learned over decades of pitching, presenting, and closing long-shot, high-stakes deals, it's that people are sick of being marketed and sold to. Most of all, they hate being told what to think. The more you push them, the more they resist.

What people love, however, is coming up with a great idea on their own, even if it's the idea you were guiding them to have all along. Often, the only way to get someone to sign is to make them feel like they're smarter than you.

That's why Oren is throwing out the old playbook on persuasion. Instead, he'll show you a new approach that works on this simple insight: Everyone trusts their own ideas. If, rather than pushing your idea on your buyer, you can guide them to discover it on their own, they'll believe it, trust it, and get excited about it. Then they'll buy in and feel good about the chance to work with you.

That might sound easier said than done, but Oren has taught thousands of people how to do it with a series of simple steps that anyone can follow in any situation.

And as you'll see in this book, Oren has been in a lot of different situations.

He'll show you how he got a billionaire to take him seriously, how he got a venture capital firm to cough up capital, and how he made a skeptical Swiss banker see him as an expert in banking. He'll even show you how to become so compelling that buyers are even more attracted to you than to your product.

These days, it's not enough to make a great pitch.

To get attention, create trust, and close the deal, you need to flip the script.

What the critics say

“In Flip the Script, Oren Klaff gives readers powerful tools that will help them get what they want. Instead of trying to convince people to buy what you’re selling, his techniques will show you how to create an entirely different dynamic. A game changing read." (Daymond John, co-star of Shark Tank and author of The Power of Broke and Rise and Grind)

"Oren Klaff is one of the most engaging writers in the business world today. Flip the Script is hugely entertaining--you'll find yourself eagerly turning the pages, engrossed in Klaff’s remarkable tales of deal-making... then suddenly look up and realize he's just taught you a whole new set of complex sales techniques, and somehow made it fun." (Matthew Dixon, coauthor of The Challenger Sale)

"Oren Klaff should have been a spy. He could recruit and sell anyone. The stories in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat and show you how a true master of influence operates. In these pages, Oren shares the tradecraft you need to close any kind of deal." (Jason Hanson, former CIA Officer and author of Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life)

The type of reading that can change your life

The value here is enormous. No willy-nilly sales garbage. This is practical "plain-vanilla" psychology that an 8 year old could understand. Thank you for publishing this!

Wow!! Such Great Actionable Ideas 💡

Had read Oren’s book, Pitch Anything and thoroughly enjoyed the many golden nuggets and mind expanding, persuasive techniques

Flip the Scrip is no different!

Just finished listening 2 FtS, and gotta say that I was soaking up every bit of wisdom.

Since I naturally educate my prospects, selling has always been easy, however, FtS gave me additional techniques to add to my toolbox 🧰

Highly recommend FtS to anyone in sales, marketing, parents, or anyone in a position to help people make better decisions … that would include everyone!! 🤣😅

After all, we are NOT here to convince people to do what we want, we are here to help them make informed decisions 🥰

Must read for anyone in sales

Oren brings a fresh and unique perspective to sales and pitch presentations in a world filled with old school and ineffective sales books.

Great ideas for sales, the writer not likeable.

As mentionned he has great ideas and I believe its worth a listen. As a person I didn't like the author who is also doing the narration. The way he treats others, talks about his very rich people problems and within his stories.

Very entertaining

Great action plan to follow. It's not a complicated theory/system but the author has entertaining stories so the book doesn't drag like so many others. Highly recommend both this and Pitch Anything.

amazingly easy listen

I listened to it twice, once for content the second time for notes. I found the book easy to follow, the ideas were clear and there wasn't a lot of self indulgent filler. the juice here is definitely worth the squeeze

Advanced and structured methods of seed planting!

Loved his fire and can do approach for any situation. His methods can easily be broken down and adapted to have the same effects. Worth a few more reads just for the stories alone.

BLOWEN AWAY!!!

I cannot elaborate on the information this package holds, the best marketing book I've come across... ever! I got this on kind of a whim after enjoying The 16 word sales letter and How to write emails that sell (this week). I've read tons of stuff on marketing in the last few years like Russell Brunson's books, sell the gap, Thinking in bets, Dan Henry's book, Sell like crazy, and tons more. I'd recommend all the above (they're contenders for second) but they have moved aside for this Flip the script.

If you are NOT looking to have a clear buying process, with processes wrapped in entertaining illustrations, or enjoy the way Marty McFly sounds (this is what the narrator sounds like to me). Or, if you ARE looking for the same rehashed stuff that the "Gurus" are peddling, then this might not be for you.

It is simple enough to remember and flexible enough for any sales situation. This can be used for sales letters/copywriting as well (it provides a formula; that I can look back in my past on and has been the cause of shiny object syndrome for me).

People will say things like "the monies in the list" or "its all about your funnel", etc. The truth is its in the way you can communicate your idea is the obvious choice to your prospective client (or spouse lol). I'm sure if we all took the time to make huge deals like this guy we'd all have some pointers. But still, I think he'd be ahead.

You can keep looking for the "secret sauce" or you can just get it right now. I can't tell you what to do, but if it was my past self... I'd tell me to read (or listen) to this with a pen and paper.

I can't wait to hear it again.
