About this listen
In this, the second Phryne Fisher mystery, the 1920s' most talented and glamorous detective flies even higher, handling a murder, a kidnapping and the usual array of beautiful young men with style and consummate ease - and all before it's time to adjourn to the Queenscliff Hotel for breakfast. Whether she's flying planes, clearing a friend of homicide charges or saving a child from kidnapping, she handles everything with the same dash and elan with which she drives her red Hispano-Suiza.

good
Gave this a second listen tonight at work. I love the show, so thought I'd give the books a try. They're quick and fun and nicely written, but a little more risque than the TV series! I'm a prude, and I'm not into reading love scenes- they almost always make me cringe. I definitely cringed, here, especially the scene in the artist's studio. That was just too much for me. But again, I'm not really the target audience, so grain of salt.
The mystery was great, the solution was inspired.
It was a fun little read/listen, overall, I'm just not keen on Phryne's entanglements.
