Learn how to reboot your metabolism, build strength, and extend your life with this accessible new guidebook that demonstrates the importance of muscle for health and longevity from the founder of the Institute for Muscle-Centric Medicine®.

After years of watching patients cycle through her practice, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon noticed a pattern. While her patients struggled with a wide range of conditions, they all suffered from the same core problem: they had too little muscle rather than too much fat.

When we think about muscle, we tend to think about strength or aesthetics, but in reality, muscle accounts for so much more than that. As the body’s largest endocrine organ, muscle actually determines everything about the trajectory of health and aging. Many of the conditions Dr. Lyon’s patients were experiencing were actually symptoms of underdeveloped or unhealthy muscle.

Now, Dr. Lyon offers an easy-to-follow food, fitness, and self-care program anchored in evidence and pioneering research that teaches you how to optimize muscle—no matter your age or health background. Discover how to overcome everything from obesity to autoimmune disorders and avoid diseases like Alzheimer’s, hypertension, and diabetes by following Dr. Lyon’s powerful new approach to becoming forever strong.

High Hopes Thwarted by Eating Disorder Language Riddled Through out. A warning should be issued.

I agree with the core measage: there is a power to skeletal muscle. However, as someone who had an eating disorder - this book was highly triggering, which surprised me. Her example clients would have still had an impact without the use of terms like "skinny fat" or shaming a mother for bonding with her children through a snack. The sheer fact their quality of life improved by taking on her Lyon protocol would have been powerful testominal enough. If the focus is on muscle why not focus on the core metric: muscle body percentage followed by improved bloodwork, happiness etc. The answer is simple: emphasizing weight loss numbers, skinny shredded girls in bikinis is what is going to sell this book, not the emphasis on overall health.

Interesting but a difficult listen

The core message regarding the importance of skeletal muscle is interesting but it’s not an easy listen, a lot of over-emphasizing and lack of flow in the reading.

the poor reading style with crazed inflection mid sentence for no reason

While this book possibly had good information to share the reading style was INCREDIBLY difficult to listen to.

Good detailed information

It was painful to listen to this book. I follow Dr Gabrielle Lyon and listen to her podcasts and she is an excellent speaker. Sadly she must have been coached to talk like this and it’s horrible. No one talks like this and it took so much away from her amazing details. Audible should allow her to re record this book and resend to all of us who bought it. There was an error done and we and Dr Lyon are paying the price.

Musclecentric Medicine is the most significant key to a disease free life where longevity is a gift.

This challenges many notions and illustrates how so many doctors today, are still suggesting nutrition based on antiquated curriculum.
