Fortuna Sworn is the last of her kind.
Her brother disappeared two years ago, leaving her with no family or species to speak of. She hides among humans, spending her days working at a bar and her nights searching for him. The bleak pattern goes on and on...until she catches the eye of a powerful faerie.
He makes no attempt to hide that he desires Fortuna. And in exchange for her, he offers something irresistible. So Fortuna reluctantly leaves her safe existence behind to step back into a world of creatures and power.
But it soon becomes clear that she may not have bargained with her heart but her very life....

“A beautiful thing was much harder to destroy than an ugly thing.” K.J. Sutton, Fortuna Sworn (Fortuna Sworn, #1)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I will start by stating that the narration was very good!
I truly enjoyed the premise of this story! The plot and the original aspects of the book kept me reading. There is a lot of vulgar language, explicit scenes, and rambling throughout the story. It is very long and a lot happens. It drags on. However, as I said it’s an interesting premise, has very original aspects, and the adventure scenes are solid!
🔔Please be aware of explicit scenes, possible triggering events/issues, and overall crude language.
A Unique Idea

I would say that this is a pretty okay book. Yeah, there were issues with it around how easy the trials ended up being and the super specialness of the main character. But it kept me interested and the magic systems and ways of the fae seem cool enough for me to continue with the series.
I'll keep you posted on my journey!
