Diverting 1930s Mystery

Since John Wyndham is well known for his "cosy catastrophe" dystopian novels this is a fascinating read as it is purely a mystery published in 1935. Thank you Audible, I had no idea this early John Wynham book existed.

It was uneven, and the ending was a bit too contrived, but it was definitely diverting.

The opinions on societal woes touched on by two main characters in Chapter 14 could have been from January 6th 2021 ... it seemed so prescient.

Narration was excellent!
