About this listen

I should have known everything was going to change when she walked into my tattoo shop...

Timid as hell and gorgeous to the extreme. I knew better than even thinking about touching a woman like that.

My life is dangerous.

My calling wicked.

Willing to cross any line to protect the innocent.

I thought I’d never see her again until my little boy tumbled and busted his lip, and I found her working at the doctor’s office.

The woman who’d taken possession of my thoughts.

When it becomes clear she’s in trouble, I offer up a deal.

Twenty questions to earn her trust.

Too bad trusting me is the last thing she should do.

With one kiss, I’m addicted. With one night, we’re falling into a passion greater than either of us has ever known.

The voices in my head warn I can never keep her. She can’t know the secret life I lead.

Only she’s keeping a secret, too.

And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means losing everything…

have trent and eden been dethroned!?

If you follow me on bookstagram, it's no secret that AL Jackson is one of my favourite authors and the Redemption Hills series is an all time favourite series for me. So, when Amy announced Moonlit Ridge was her new spin off series I was absolutely feral to get my hands on this book - and Amy pulled through for me! I'm still leaning towards believing I might end up liking this series even more than Redemption Hills and I'm struggling to wrap my head around that concept.

Tropes
▪️ Morally gray hero
▪️ Broody single dad
▪️ Touch her and ☠️
▪️ Heroine on the run
▪️ Pierced MMC
▪️ Ex-motorcycle club
▪️ Secret society
▪️ Found family
▪️ He falls first
▪️ New bestie's brother
▪️ Small town
▪️ Flashbacks
▪️ Romantic suspense

Amy has this way of writing that does a fantastic job of conveying the broody, tension filled vibes the MCs are experiencing together. At times it can feel a little repetitive, but it really does convey the spark of connection between the characters.

I loved that Amy was trailing us along and giving us little hints here and there to help us uncover River's background and the actions of his secret society as well as the tragic backstory of Charleigh and her family! As someone who has read Amy's entire backlist multiple times, I have become accustomed to how she likes to write books. I think because of this extensive knowledge, I had a theory - more like a quick thought I dismissed - quite early on about what the big reveal could be, and oh my gosh the way I was FLOORED and SCREAMING at the way my theory came into fruition! I thought I was crazy for even thinking it was a possibility and shook the thought off, but Amy made it play out effortlessly! It didn't feel like a stretch at all after she had the story unfold!

I've said this before, but Amy writes some of my favourite children - she loves writing a single parent romance, and always writes the cutest little kids!

I loved reading the flashback scenes and trying to piece together the puzzle this way! The flashbacks are written in third person while the present is written in first. Simply for the sake of personal preference I would have liked them both to be written in first person, because I feel the third person creates this degree of separation from the character but I want to feel what the character is going through.

The best start to a new series!

Holy Moly Charleigh and River blew me away! AL Jackson is hands-down one of my favorite authors, an auto-buy, I don't even have to read the blurb to know I am going to read her books. This new series has some loose connections to the Redemption Hills series (which was my favorite of hers, I think, so hard to choose!). Charleigh shows up at River's tattoo shop looking to get her first piece of ink. River is automatically drawn to her, he knows their is something special about her. When he runs into her at his son's doctors office, he knows he has to have her. Charleigh is hesitant at first, but she can see through River's tough exterior to the amazing man he is underneath. We know that River has a questionable past, but he's as open as he can be, and Charleigh can't stay away regardless. The twists and turns in this book really kept me on the edge of my seat. It was spicy and intense and I did not want to stop listening. I had some hunches throughout the book, and when they came to fruition I was floored! The audio on this was phenomenal. It was the first time I had heard Austin Stone's narration and it did not disappoint. Andi Arndt is a rockstar and always delivers a captivating performance. If the rest of the series is half as good as this book, we have major favorite contention!

Great story and performance!

From Here To Eternity was an engaging listen and entertaining story. I enjoyed the romance and the suspense weaved into the plot.

Both audio performers read their parts well, with good pacing, voice, and emotion.
The characters were all likable, and the bond between the MMC, River, and his son, Nolan, was endearing. I felt as though the dialogue seemed unnatural from a child that age, but it was easy to overlook.
I grew to love the friendship formed between Charleigh (fmc) and Raven (mmc's sister). It seemed forced initially, but as the story progressed, their friendship felt more organic, close, and honest.
Charleigh and River had amazing chemistry. I loved that he fell first and enjoyed every part of their sweet and sexy interactions!

The big twist or surprise of the story was obvious to me early on, but it didn't negatively impact my experience reading.

All in all, I enjoyed the start to this series. I look forward to reading book 2!

Welcome to Moonlit Ridge 🤍

Oh my gosh this book. Amy has done it again with writing another incredible romantic suspense novel that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook as I went through a flurry of emotions.
River was swoon worthy. Not only is he a tall, dark and handsome, morally gray man but also a single father (fire). As if that wasn’t enough, all he wanted to do was worship Charleigh’s body, bring her pleasure and show her what it’s like to have someone love and care for you as she deserved. Like honestly how can you top that? He is a morally gray hero in a tatted suit of armour.
And Charleigh, so resilient and vulnerable. Running from the torments of her past and scared to let anyone in. A broken spirit trying to hold on to the will to live. I just wanted to give her a big hug and tell her she wasn’t alone anymore.
These two were such a great pair. They had great chemistry; their relationship was heated but there was also such tenderness between them. The way Charleigh immediately bonded with Nolan
I had some suspicions as I made my way through this book but honestly, I’m not sure I was prepared for them to be true. Can your heart shatter while also melting with love at the same time? Because I swear mine did. This was an incredibly emotional read.
I’m so excited for this new series. The secret society aspect, the promise that there is more angst, danger, love and redemption to come with this loyal band of brothers. I wasn’t sure anything could top Redemption Hills and Time River, but I may just have a new favorite series.

I wish I would have read it not listened to it!

Miss Jackson you wrote another well crafted story. The development of the characters was well done.
I enjoyed all the twists and turns in the story.. Bravo
The ending was well crafted!
I would have preferred a different male lead. Female narrator was good.
