About this listen

Escape to Scotland in this funny, heartfelt audio-first romance about reconnecting with an old love...and discovering new passion.

After her boyfriend runs off to a Buddhist monastery, Molly is stuck with an extra ticket for a bed-and-breakfast trip through the Scottish Highlands. Not wanting to waste the fare, she sells it in an online auction...where it's bought by a man from her past. Now she's stuck rooming with the guy who broke her heart - someone she's never been able to forget.

When Alex arrives in Scotland and discovers that he unknowingly purchased a romantic getaway with his ex-girlfriend, he knows he should walk away. Spending two weeks at a bed-and-breakfast in the Scottish Highlands with his beautiful, spirited ex is a terrible idea. He came to Scotland with one goal in mind - to win an elite photojournalism competition - and Molly is a distraction he can't afford.

But as the stunning Scottish Highlands weaves its magic, Alex's and Molly's hearts begin to open once again. Can they let go of their past for the second shot of a lifetime?

Cute story.

Cute story. A few inaccuracies: Scotland uses Pounds, not Euro. The police in Ireland are called Garda.

Fun and warm

The warmth of Scotland wirh a fun loving couple. You wanted them to figure things out. Her being misunderstood by others made her a kindred spirit

Easy, predictable ... it was fine

From Scotland With Love is another Audible freebie for its members. I wanted something light and that's what I got with this book set in the beauty of Scotland with a story that includes popular romance tropes - second chance romance and enemies to lovers.

I liked the premise of this RomCom more than the execution. I loved the Scottish setting (naturally) and the romance tropes, but the dialogue is pretty cheesy, the characters were just meh and the narrator made a poor attempt at a Scots accent (which often sounded like Irish).

This book was ... fine. It was a light listen as I got things tidied around the house but I'm glad it was a free Audible selection. I listened to this audiobook last week and honestly, not much of the story has stuck with me. Consider this a quick, easy and predictable romance that may make you feel like you're in Ireland instead of Scotland.

Nice light listening

Fun story. Author painted a wonderful and delightful image with her words. She took me to Scotland with her.

fluff

This was predictable and quite cheesy but I don't think it pretended to be deep and it was free!

Spoiler alert

I was looking for something light and fluffy and this fit the bill perfectly. Momentary entertainment and great for drifting off to sleep with.
Many of the situations such as the peeing/ram incident (I laughed out loud so it was worth it) and breaking the window pane were overly contrived situations that made the supposedly intelligent heroine into a physical comedian.
The clever, wordy sarcastic banter of the main characters is interesting but no one really speaks that way to each other. Still it is entertaining. Again I laughed out loud when our heroine came up with Ferret Legging, the sport! And lo and behold, it shows up as a legit sport in wikepedia!

I liked learning about small family distillery businesses in Scotland. I am assuming that is a thing.

Some details come up that never get tied up in the story. Alex lies about Molly being pregnant to their hosts amd then that detail never comes up again. Yet Alex and Molly become bosom buddies of their Scottish hosts even though their initial meeting is based on being disingenuine. Molly smashes a window in the middle of winter in their rented room in an overly dramatic fashion and the hosts reaction to that never comes up. And the worst plot twist which is completely unbelievable, Alex disappears mysteriously in a strange country and Molly is supposed to have gone crazy and looked everywhere for him but no one thinks to call the police? If they had, they would have found him being held in jail. Instead, she goes home to New York without him! Really? And even if he had been held, why was he not allowed one phone call?
It was hard to love the story once the plot became that unrealistic. But like I said, it is fine enough story as a sleep aid!

light

A loght story that had lots of plot holes and the characters feelings/action didn't make much sense.

cute

Adorable, but so obvious. That first breakup was totally out of nowhere. I was hoping for more scottish history and landmarks.
