Publisher's Summary
Available in audio-first, an extraordinary new romance by New York Times best-selling author Emma Chase!
Head of the class...
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.
The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy — he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.
Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.
And knocks him right on his tight end zone.
Back to school...
Callie has a pretty sweet life herself...on the other side of the country. But circumstances — that she'd prefer to never speak of again — have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.
Now she's facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore...and that's just the teachers.
Just like old times...
When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance — and then has to stop herself from jumping him.
Good friends are all they can ever be.
Or...these teachers just might end up getting schooled — hard — by love.

So sweet and funny
This was overall a very sweet book! So many funny moments too.
Not a lot of conflict which I actually really enjoyed. I'm kinda tired of reading books where there's conflict just for the sake of conflict.
there were definitely some very predictable parts but they didn't really bother me.
I also really liked that it showed some real ups and downs and struggles that teenagers in high-school go through, with the message that it's important for someone to be there. To be on their side.
I also definitely cried at one point. You'll know when you read the book. 🐶😭

One of my Favourites
The characters were well developed and narration well done. There were enough ups and downs and plot twists to keep me wanting more.
My favourite parts showed how everyday life can be and is challenging enough to provide the opportunities to grow through grief, disappointment with integrity.
There were parts that brought me to tears and I loved the emphasis on how our choices lead to our quality of life but also how we need each other.
I’ll definitely be reading more by this author.

Oh My Heart!
I am most definitely one of Emma's biggest fans! This story pulled my heartstrings and I wish she had more books in this world. Every character is fleshed out and believable, and their stories are so touching with so much humour that you can't help falling in love with all of them.

Suddenly Seymour!!
Took a break from reading just to listen to the song 2 dozen times…
I likes this one better than Getting Real; ZW seemed more invested and the story was more interesting. Nothing new or mind blowing and a little bit of eye rolling, but I guess literary references are more my thing that fight club quotes.

👍👍 Yes Emma
The Getting Some series is excellent. Listen to this first one first. Getting Schooled. Two of the characters Garrett and Carllie appear in the next book. Andi and Zachary are amazing together. They narrated both, first and second, Getting Played. Just an FYI. If you can listen to another book in between the two books as you will forget it’s not The same characters. With repeat narration, well you get it. It doesn’t matter how good they are you will thank me. Both of these books were awesome. Buy them both and enjoy. PS Zachary’s voice will make you weak in the knees. Well they did mine. Enjoy.👌

Emma's books are the best
Loved the story when I read it years ago, and the audible was perfection. The narrators were amazing. I laughed and I swooned!! Looking forward to more Emma audible

Surprisingly Funny
Didn't expect to enjoy this so much. Found myself chuckling many times while reading. Being a teacher myself made me like the banter with the students even more. Loved the popculture references here and there as well. Oh and SEXY. The male narrator's voice especially -yes!
