The compliance officer for a First Nations band has been shot in the head and left for dead. Unable to cross over to the great hunting grounds, Billy Ghostkeeper must stay and discover who murdered him and why.

Fantastic story and realist dialogue
I downloaded on a whim and I'm glad I did!
This is not just a story - it will make you think of the choices you make and what kind of legacy you leave behind but in an entertaining way.
It's a just a shame I can't find more from this author.

loved it
This was my first 5 star book of the year. I enjoyed every second of it. The writing style was right up my alley, and I liked the dry humor, and the way the spiritual elements were treated as mundane. That whole aspect of the story was very well written and not hokey or awkward at all. The mystery was solid, the characters well developed, and although it dealt with grim subjects, it was really funny at times.
The price was an absolute steal, too. Such a good read.

A good timely story - topical without being preachy - relaxing yet inspirational - nice combination of not too brilliant main characters teamed up with somewhat annoying spirit animals:)
