"This quaint performance by a five-narrator ensemble will tug at the heartstrings."—AudioFile

Trailblazing pop star, actor and director, Hayley Kiyoko debuts her first novel, a coming-of-age romance based on her breakthrough hit song and viral video, GIRLS LIKE GIRLS.

It’s summertime and 17-year-old Coley has found herself alone, again. Forced to move to rural Oregon after just losing her mother, she is in no position to risk her already fragile heart. But when she meets Sonya, the attraction is immediate.

Coley worries she isn't worthy of love. Up until now, everyone she's loved has left her. And Sonya's never been with a girl before. What if she's too afraid to show up for Coley? What if by opening her heart, Coley's risking it all?

They both realize that when things are pushed down, and feelings are forced to shrivel away, Coley and Sonya will be the ones to shrink. It’s not until they accept the love they fear and deserve most, that suddenly the song makes sense.

Based on the billboard-charting smash hit song and viral music video GIRLS LIKE GIRLS, Hayley Kiyoko's debut novel is about embracing your truth and realizing we are all worthy of being loved back.

Beautiful

Loved every bit of it!
Hayley Kiyoko never ceases to surprise us with new material. As her first book based on her first lesbian song hit of the same name, I found it to be a beautiful homage.
The story has a great flow and having Hayley narrate it was truly amazing. Definitely cried, laughed, cringed and blushed!
Can't wait for the next book ;)

Incredible vibes throughout

I’m always wary of celebrities or musicians who decide to write poetry or novels as well as music. Lesbian Jesus never lets me down. One of the most aesthetic audiobooks I’ve experienced, both narrative and the performance.

Loved this book!

Hayley did such a good job with writing and voicing this book omg.
When the GLG music video came out 8 years ago, it was really something that helped me through coming to terms with who I am. That video means a lot to me, so I was so excited when she announced she was writing this book. I loved it, and i loved having the visual representation in my mind of Stefanie and Kelsey from the music video, as Coley and Sonya.
Thanks Hayley for both the music video and the book, you’ve helped me and so many people around the world.

Elder Millenial Lesbians thank you for your service

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. the narration was incredible and the story so relatable it hurt. Having been a closeted lesbian in high school in 2006, I can't express my gratitude to the author for creating such a beautiful story of the confusion, fear, internalized homophobia, but most of all the LOVE that can exist in the dark and complex spaces between everything the world tells us is right and acceptable.

Wonderful as always

There will never be a proper way to say thank you to you (Hayley) for all the joy and understanding you have brought to my life. Seeing the effort you put in and beautiful world you built in both the music video and this book is so inspiring. Thank you for always striving to give your best to the community. Looking forward to the future work and world building.

A very cute love story

Loved the story and the narration. There was a lot of emotion in all of it. If you’re looking for a cute (almost cringy in its cuteness) LGBTQ+ YA love story, this is it!

A timely story!

So many families deal with depression! It may not be recognized!
I related to (cleo/cloe) as someone wanting to help! I appreciated the description of
Each coming to terms with her sexuality in so many stages!

So heartwarming and beautiful

After hours of rewatching the girls like girls music video as a teen, I was beyond excited when I heard a book was coming out. Having finished reading it, the longing, intimacy, confusion and love that comes with your first queer crush was represented beautifully and I couldn't stop smiling all throughout it. The story is truly special.
