About this listen

Opening the X-Files...

Meet Mulder and Scully, FBI - the agency maverick and the female agent assigned to keep him in line.

Their job is to investigate the eeriest unsolved mysteries in modern America, from pyro-psychics to death row demonics, from rampaging Sasquatches to alien invasions. These are the cases the Bureau wants handled quietly but quickly, before the public finds out what's really out there...and panics - the cases filed under "X".

Decent story, touchy narration.

The story itself was interesting but the narration was hard to get through. There wasn't enough variation in the character voices to follow interactions all the time. I had a hard time distinguishing between them.

Good transition from the tv series

I'm always skeptical about books derived from TV series and have been surprised several times by the very good experience. This is one of those times. I think the audiobook gained something from my past experience with the TV as my ear "heard" Scully and Molder and my mind's eye "saw" them. This was particularly notable for Gillian Anderson which is counterintuitive with a male narrator. Not a high pressure, seat-of-your-pants story, but an engaging one. Will now approach the rest of the X-files audiobooks with enthusiasm.

si vous vous ennuyez des X-Files c'est parfait!

l'histoire se déroule dans la période de la 2e saison, avant que Scully ait un cancer et où elle est encore septique vis a vis les complots gouvernementaux

bad narrator

Patrick Lawler is a terrible narrator. I couldn't even make in 10 minutes into the story. Too bad. might have been a good story, but I'll never know.
