About this listen
What does God think about technology?
From smartphones to self-driving cars to space travel, new technologies can inspire us. But the breakneck pace of change can also frighten us. So how do Christians walk by faith through the innovations of Silicon Valley? And how does God relate to our most powerful innovators?
To build a biblical theology of technology, journalist and tech optimist Tony Reinke examines nine key texts from Scripture to show how the world’s discoveries are divinely orchestrated. Ultimately, what we believe about God determines how we respond to human invention. With the help of several theologians and inventors throughout history, Reinke dispels 12 common myths in the church and offers 14 ethical convictions to help Christians live by faith in the age of big tech.

Biblical overview of technology
Out of the 4 or 5 Christian Tech books that I read last year, this was the most helpful because it was the most Biblical. I started the podcast What Would Jesus Tech as an amateur, and I remain as such! But having models like Tony Reinke has been a real blessing.
The Bible says a lot about technology. You are probably underestimating that. While Reinke’s book can feel more like a textbook at times, it really helps position technology as a good thing that God wants us to build under His sovereign rule. Reinke is a great writer and covers a lot of ground in this work.
I highly recommend it!
