À propos de cet audio
What happens when we literally walk out our Christian life? Drawing on Jesus' lived example of walking, pastor and bestselling author Mark Buchanan explores one of the oldest spiritual practices of our faith.
We often act as if faith is only about the mind. But what about our bodies? What does our physical being have to do with our spiritual life? When the Bible calls us to walk in the light, walk by faith, or walk in truth, it means these things literally as much as figuratively.
The most obvious thing about Jesus' method of discipleship, in fact, is that he walked and invited others to walk with him. It's in the walking that his disciples are taught, formed, tested, empowered, and released.
Part theology, part history, part field guide, God Walk explores:
- Walking as spiritual formation
- Walking as healing
- Walking as exercise
- Walking as prayer
- Walking as pilgrimage
With practical insight and biblical reflections told in his distinct voice, Buchanan gives you the tools and encouragement you need to immediately implement the practice of living at God's speed.
Praise for God Walk:
"In this beautiful, inspiring book, Mark shows us how the simple rhythm of walking can take us farther on the path of wholeness, joy, and God than we imagined possible. Poetic, poignant, and immensely practical, this book will change your life . . . one step at a time."
—Ken Shigematsu, pastor, Tenth Church, Vancouver; bestselling author, Survival Guide for the Soul

Stillness as a virtue is a foreign concept in our society, but there is wisdom in God's own rhythm of work and rest. Jesus practiced sabbath among those who had turned it into a dismal thing, a day for murmuring and finger-wagging, and he reminded them of the day's true purpose: liberation - to heal, to feed, to rescue, to celebrate, to lavish and relish life abundant. With this audiobook, Buchanan reminds us of this and gives practical advice for restoring the sabbath in our lives.

This begins Mark Buchanan’s trilogy of novels vividly recreating the life and times of David, a man of many contradictions - poet, killer, God-lover, adulterer, brigand, fugitive, war hero. It’s a tale told through many eyes, those who love David and those who don’t, in details both intimate and epic. Three thousand years after he lived, David: Rise reminds us why he still captures our imagination and rivets our attention.

In Spiritual Rhythm, Mark Buchanan replaces our spirituality of busyness with a spirituality of abiding. Sometimes we are busy, sometimes still, sometimes pushing with all we've got, sometimes waiting. This model of the spiritual life measures and produces growth by asking: Are we living in rhythm with the season we are in?

We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice. To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.

'Buchanan's many personal stories and accounts of Christians being transformed by meandering meditations on God are fresh and inviting. Christians looking for a more physically active faith practice should check this out.' (Publishers Weekly)

Creative , Inspiring and Moving 😊
It was very interesting and peculiar to see how the author started new chapters, and was able to tie in the diverse topics to the main subject. in my humble opinion, this is a wonderful gift and a gifted talented author.
Referencing his life with truth and humility helps the listener engage and allow vulnerability.
The reader Robert, begins the book rather slowly. It is not a good representation of the whole audible experience. Hang in there, Keifer's voice becomes a trusted assuring friend. The tenure of his baritone voice allows the listener to envision a slow stroll with thoughtful discussion and wise questions.
