About this listen

Grayson

You'd think being a billionaire would make me happy, but money can't buy me the one thing my life is missing: the one that got away. Liam Gold was my first love, and I've spent years searching for him.

Liam is back in Abingdon now, searching for a job, and he's just as beautiful as he ever was. He's also covered in tattoos and living out of his truck. I'm going to take Liam in, heal his wounds, and give him a life he's never imagined. I'll fight like hell to keep him, no matter what the haters say.

Liam

I was on my way to the NFL when I got a career-crushing injury. I've been floating from job to job since then, trying to make ends meet. I thought I'd never sleep in a bed again - or even afford kibble for my dog. It turns out that my first love is back in town, looking for me. Who am I to say no to nights spent in his bed and a job restoring his lakeside home?

The gossip-mongers say I'm a swindler. A con artist. A gold digger. Let people say what they want. I may be running a long con, but it's not what they think. If I can get that man stay with me forever, I'll move heaven and earth to make him happy. And I'll sacrifice everything to make him mine.

Contains mature themes.

webtoon??

What is the story here? it's not a love story. it starts with Grey grumbling he has people to do things, but when he's back in his old hometown, he has to slum it. Then, two seconds later, he sees his now homeless, childhood friend and then slumming it is what he wants. He's dropping, I love you and baby, and you're mine, from the get go when prior to the present, they last saw each other when he was 16 and Liam was 19, and they did nothing back then, so there's no I have gotten to know you now and have fallen for you connection.

They are shacking up from first meeting with "I've looked for you for years" from Grey and one shower, no grooming, no sweet kisses, and topped off with a dog that hops onto the covers after sex without a second thought. really? you're telling me the dog of a homeless man doesn't have the same grime? no grooming for the dog. The dog is like an afterthought or prop in this story.

I think i see what the author wants to do but failed to do. everything is left at the surface, nothing in depth. There are so many concepts started but not quite executed well enough to make an impact or make the story actually worth the read/listen.

This book reads like a webtoon by an imaginative, dreamy, 16 year old, that has been turned into a novel.
