Great selection of short stories
Geraint Wyn Davis did an excellent job in narration. Multi voices, dramatic effects. The stories were captivating.

Great narration; inconsistent stories.
Some of these classics are so dusty and dull, but Geraint Wyn Davies is an outstanding narrator!

Not for me
Great storytelling but the stories are not for me. I guess it’s a question of taste

Historical horror, more snooze than scare
I respect these pioneers of horror paving the way for the horror writers of today. I am very appreciative. That being said, times have changed, and these stories haven't (in my humble opinion) aged well. I find them overly wordy and referencing things that during the time I'm sure everyone one knew about back then, but I am not in on whatever it is that they were alluding to and what ever feeling they were trying to conjure is lost. Some stories were better than others, and I found the last story was the one that I liked the best because it was short and simple yet very effective. The story that I like the least, which really surprised me, was The House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe. The idea of the story is good, but wow Edgar sure knows how to drone on and on about everything. It was actually very tiresome to listen to. Everyone talks about how awesome Edgar Allan Poe is but, like me, perhaps many haven't ever tried reading any of his stories before, so I was expecting to be amazed and instead I could barely keep my attention on listening to it.
