About this listen
Their spies were among us for years. They mapped our infrastructure, learned our weaknesses, until finally they flipped the switch and threw us back into the Dark Ages. Only OMBRA and its battalions around the world seem capable of defending Earth from the next wave of attack - terraforming. But at what price can we gain our freedom?
The Crays are pushing the human race to the edge of extinction, and we will have to learn new ways of living to defeat this threat. This is a time for heroes. For killers. For Grunts. Benjamin Carter Mason will question his identity, his beliefs, and his mission as he dives deep into the heart of an alien-transformed Los Angeles. And in the end, he might be the last person on Earth defending not just our lives but our humanity.

Please be prepared, this is not a SCI FI as much as a war book. A “very depressing war book”.
Kill, kill kill….with very little empathy. Note: several small spoilers ahead….. I’n the third chapter someone throws out a vet and his family from what used to be a Military base. What I mean by that is they’re basically sending them to die. That’s only in the third chapter. It gets far worse after. There’s a scene in which a doctor describes his reaction to the invasion, how he was in a fugue and his wife took care of him and their 2 daughters. His neighbour (who was ex soldier and had weapons) was raping his wife every day and he hadn’t noticed. Oh and being the upstanding neighbour he was also tried to rape both his 9 and 11 year old daughters. What a wonderful book! Lots of quotes from every war ever fought if your into that thing, almost too many, There’s simply no relevance to the plot line. Personally (and I’m sorry as I like the narrator) I wouldn’t waste my time on this series. I now understand why it’s free. Then again some people may like this! For the rest of us…you’ve been warned.
