A fun and raunchy tale of War and love.

Adored the series. Listening at work and barely able to stop reading after 9 straight hours, still wanting more.

kinda meh, but fills a good chunk of time

story is a little lack luster in my opinion, mc is overpowered and generally never faces hardship then just adds to his power, nearly every book has a repeated conversation. That being said the narration is on point and the quality and range of both deserve respect

OK adventure, but cringy teenage writing.

Right there are good and bad things about this series. But overall it seems to be an adventure fantasy mixed with cheesy science opera that had a love child with political satire and a badly written piece of teenage porn. Expect heavily conservative political/moral themes.

Things that really bugged me: there is no real catharsis and emotional change for our hero Griff ever. The sex scenes sucked and were really short and mainly focused on the protagonists pleasure. Way too much tell and not enough show. Random character introduction but not enough character development. World building without using it for any practical purpose.

Griff is basically a domineering alpha male jock given powers and told to go be a hero but otherwise he's still a dick. The logistics are interesting but it's surprising that throughout his entire rise to power he never invests in R&D or otherwise tries to outsmart the system. it's all kick ass, blow shit up and fuck his harem all the way through. By book 3 it's getting very repetitive. By book 5 it was downright predictable and I was waiting for it to all end.

The voice actors did a decent job. At first I thought the character of Griff with his melodramatic domineering tone was just bad acting but as new characters were introduced it was made clear no it was deliberate. Griff, and the whole book in fact, is slightly melodramatic and kind of cheesy. So that gets reflected in the acting. Though some things just didn't make sense like the randomness of giving characters different accents. But given the low quality of the writing I can't blame the VAs for just having some fun with the production.

omnibus is good deal for a credit

it was a fun listen. I liked the first 3 books more than the last two, but it was a good deal for a credit.

10 hours in, getting bored

Wish the story would move along a little quicker. It is a decent story overall, though, and a good bargain.
