About this listen
One strong woman. Four hulking Fae Guardians. Even a dark secret that could destroy the world doesn't stand a chance.
Paranormal Detective Eve Carter knows things. She's always had uncanny gut instincts. When a run of supernatural murders take place, Eve thinks she may be the only one who can save her once-idyllic hometown from the dark threat.
What she doesn't expect is four sexy Fae warriors to save her from a vampire attack. Or the mysterious bond that she feels with them.
Guardians Noah, Tyler, Jacob, and Cole have spent centuries protecting the Fae, so when there is a breach of the veil between the realms, they are ordered to investigate the disturbance.
But what they find is shocking. A beautiful woman with the gift of the Fae...and a compelling desire to serve her every need.
Contains mature themes.

The story is ok
I found the pacing a bit off. The concept of the story is great! But it moved a bit too fast I think to really develop the relationships/characters. There is so much potential there, but I was left not really caring about the characters, couldn’t distinguish between the male characters in the RH, the sister story line seems important, but it wasn’t developed much. You get a lot from Eve, but a lot ends up info dumped versus developing naturally through character and relationship development.

The story is okay but I’m here for the spice! Lol
The story is okay nothing great but not horrible, I’m not ashamed to say I’m just loving the spice!
I’m not into police shows or books so all the cop & work issues just bore me, the fae world is also very disappointing but obviously she will one day take over and change things for the better there.

Great plot. Narration 50/50
This was a really good book. This is only book one and I think because it’s the same writer and the same narrators it’ll be much the same again. Both narrators were very good. But the female narrator was way better than the mail.
I only have one thing more or less that I’m really disgusted about. And it’s not just in this book it’s an other fantasy books that I have read where there is a female heroin in it. The thing is love female heroines, you can never have enough, the only problem with it is why are they writing them as if they are really stupid. Why does every female think she can handle whatever comes comes her way when she has supernaturals that lived their whole life as supernaturals. Why can’t the heroines listen to the ones who know what they’re talking about. I get that some of us women are stubborn. But every single book that I listen to that same thing happens. Do they not know of another suspense to put in the book other than a female getting into trouble because she doesn’t listen to the ones who actually know what they’re talking about.
OK enough of my ranting I feel better now. But seriously book one was very good and like I said I would predict that the next set of books in the series will be just as good I’ll let you know how the next one turns out.

Rubbish
This book was absolute rubbish.
Why do I bother reading books like this? each time it just gives me a new headache and I wonder why authors cannot make female leads who are strong and aren’t annoying or stupid.
The female MC realizes something’s happening with herself, a demon House tells her she was the cause of her parents’ accident, she had already thought that they seemed like they were possessed, I get it, why believe a demon possessed house? they could be lying to you, but then these fairy guys are saving her and explaining everything to her. They tell her that as her powers grow they are causing chaos in her realm and other realms so she needs to go with them to learn how to control them and her only thought is “I can’t leave, I have a little sister and I’m a cop” for real? Her sister is not little, her sister is just younger, her powers are causing chaos in her own city, killing people by bringing forth more demons all over and all she can think about is herself. Way to have your priorities straight.
I started to skip chapters trying to figure out when the story will get to a point where she pulls her head out of her a*se and sees the damage she is causing and it took 15 chapters. 15 CHAPTERS and her killing someone in an interrogation for her to think, yup, maybe I need to get this under control.
Her character is judgey and unlikeable and I don’t find her harem of fairies any more likeable.
Why must these authors make their female leads so appalled by lusty attraction? it’s almost like they need to have a chastity belt or they need to have these righteous morals and God forbid they actually feel attraction after just meeting someone. Isn’t that what happens? You meet someone, you are attracted or drawn to them and you want to get to know them? The amount of times this girl mentions, “ I shouldn’t be so attracted, I’ve only just met them” makes me roll my eyes. This is a reverse harem novel. She’s going to be hooking up with each of these men, sometimes more than one at a time, why must we go through the ridiculous charade of having her pretend like she’s some innocent being.
This is the first and it will be the last book I read by this author if this book is any indication of her writing style and how she writes her female leads.
