Publisher's Summary

Escape to the Gulf Coast of Florida with Georgia Carpenter as she gets a second chance at life, love, and happiness.

The Christmas party at the Sea Glass Inn is a long-held tradition, one the townspeople of Blackbird Beach consider the kick-off of the Christmas season. Until, of course, the inn closed, and the party stopped happening.

Now Georgia Carpenter has decided it’s time to restart that tradition, even though the party is a massive undertaking and one that will influence how people feel about the inn for the rest of the year. With the help of her sister, Lilly, Georgia hopes to put on an event that will be merry and bright and spark new interest in the business.

She also wants to dedicate the event to her late, great Aunt Norma. She’s the woman responsible for the inn’s existence and for the change of fortune in Georgia’s life, after all. It’s only fitting that such an amazing woman get an amazing tribute.

But pulling off such a party might require a Christmas miracle. Will the night go off without a hitch? ‘Tis the season to find out....

8 books - one long story

You need to read this series in order from 1-8 to enjoy it the most. It is really one long story about “life” and day to day lives.
Because it is broken into 8 books there is quite a bit of repetition and overlap, but it was still enjoyable overall.

I enjoyed the series but too many narrators...

The series portrays an interesting look into the lives of regular, everyday people who try to do their best (or their worst) despite the unexpected things that life throws at them. I like how the characters develop throughout the books. I liked all the narrators as well, but I thought 7 narrators were 6 too many. Just 1 would have been ideal.

The chapters were a rotation of a specific character's point of view, and was read by that character's specific narrator. But each narrator also voiced the entire dialogue for the characters in the chapter. So even though the idea was that each character has a specific narrator, that was irrelevant since the narrator also voiced all of the other characters that appeared in the chapter that each read solo.

I would love to listen to a 9th book, but read by just one voice. It would do better justice to the author's work. my preference would be for the initial Georgia narrator.

Gulf coastal series

I loved how each of the characters had their own voice by the narrator’s. I have listened to this series at least 3 or more times. This time around I noticed that some of the voices which should have been someone else , was Lilly’s voice instead. A little confusing. Otherwise great series. Yea book 9 would be nice with Travis and Georgia at their wedding slash honeymoon.

Gulf coast books

I just loved the stories. I couldn’t download the next book fast enough. I hope she continues with Travis and Georgia’s storyline. Thank you for providing it on your site.

Loved the transformations of the people. Especially love the theme of building community and living our neighbours.

Good to the last drop!

Enjoyed all 8 books. Easy listening. Enjoyed the many narrators as there are many cast members and much dialogue. The numerous narrators made it easier to know who was talking. I recommend,

Nice Family Story

The story was cute. But the narration was painful. From chapter to chapter there was zero consistency in character voices.
