About this listen
The final novel of the Kilo-Five Trilogy by number-one New York Times best-selling author Karen Traviss - part of the expanded universe based on the award-winning video game series Halo!
It's 2553. With the 30-year-long Covenant War finally over, the Office of Naval Intelligence faces old grievances rising again to threaten Earth. Angry and bitter colonists - still wanting to settle scores from an insurrection put on hold for three decades - crave justice...as does a man whose life was torn apart by ONI when his young daughter was abducted for the SPARTAN-II program. Black-ops squad Kilo-Five now find its collective loyalty tested beyond the breaking point when the father of their Spartan comrade, still searching for the truth about her disappearance, prepares to glass Earth’s cities to get an answer.
How far will Kilo-Five go to stop him? And will he be able to live with the truth when he finds it?
The painful answer lies with someone long dead and a conscience that still survives in the most unlikely, undiscovered place....

great story
Book two of the Kilo-Five trilogy. This is an amazing Storyline with all kinds of neat stuff going on. gets you really into all the characters so you are invested in their goals and challenges. the main plot itself is really fun and interesting, while still allowing tons of other little adventures into the story. so you get a bunch of little challenges for each character to face and overcome giving you small stories and victories packed into the overarching plot. Everything stays accurate to the true Halo universe and time-line, even answering some questions along the way.
point is, its an amazing trilogy and this book is equally awesome just like the two other books of the series.

The perfect way to wrap up the trilogy.
Wow, this book is crafted so perfectly to wrap up the trilogy I can’t think of a single thing I would change.
The first two books were not the most exciting books to read, in all fairness. But the quality of storytelling in this book clears the whole slate. Absolute masterpiece, Karen.

Well written series, less predictable than most and great character development. Pity to be finished.

I don’t have the words to describe this experience and actually do it honor.
Having the chance to get to know the person who’s going to be in charge of the human world via ONI was great and the epilogue is a masterpiece.
Thank you Traviss.
if you like the halo universe even just a bit, you have to listen to the Kilo-Five odyssey.

so amazing!
Absolutely fantastic ending to the trilogy. The author beautifully finished all character arcs in a compelling and satisfying way. Also props to the Voice Actor. I greatly appreciated the extra mile he went to do special voices for the non-human characters. Even when I read halo books in print my internal dialog dosent even do that. Bravo

I didn't think it was possible, but they did it.
After reading Ghost of Onyx I jumped into the forunner Saga, Contact harvest, A Master Chief Story, and finally finishing the kilo five trilogy. I honestly think Mortal Dictata is officially my personal favorite, seeing a different perspective of the Spartan 2 program, along with the effect on some of the Spartans families was a well needed touch to the halo universe. Huragok is the way.

Phenomenal storytelling read by a phenomenal voice
Karen Traviss clearly did her research on the franchise incorporating amazing pieces from across the entire universe that acts as treats those familiar with the lore without being non enjoyable for those unfamiliar. Euan does an incredible job bringing life to each and every character in a way that no one else could do better.
