For the love of all things dark and hairy, did you really have to mate me with a vampire? Seriously? This moon season before Halloween sucks enough as is. My hormones are off the charts, my urges are driving me crazy, and my wolf wants to shift every other minute.

My found-pack of two mystery shifters, a grumpy fairy, a kind witch, and her ghost husband have all been trying to keep the supes of New Orleans safe. You'd think that'd give me some sort of pass, but no. What do I get for being a good guy? A prim vampire who's setting off every nesting instinct.

A scorching hot five chilli pepper listen

A few minutes in, I was giggling out loud, and I got more than a few strange looks from the other folks walking their dogs. Then I was blushing furiously and glad it’s winter so my face was covered with a scarf. And at 47 minutes in, my heart melted at “I can’t force myself away from you, but I would never, ever force myself on you.”

I don’t know why I was surprised at the breadth of emotion this story evoked for me. This is a Kelly Fox story after all, and she always delivers on the snarky, witty banter, action, heart-melting moments, and steamy scenes in equal measure.

Blake Lockheart does an amazing job performing this. He’s created a very distinct voice for each of the two MC’s and is consistent, so you know who’s speaking, and who’s thoughts you’re hearing at any given time. And the sexy growl he does for Lazar is, uh, wow, blush-inducing, and had me squirming and hiding in my hood at times.

You might not want to listen to this one in public though, just saying ;-).
