Definitely worth a go especially if you’re a fan of the series there’s many differences between this and the movie

About What You Would Expect
I confess that I never saw the film treatment of this Slasher-Flick story.. but author/screenwriter Paul Brad Logan generates a cinematic interpretation. The description is reasonably vivid and I suspect that the dialogue is word-for-word from the script - so if you don't have the time or the capacity to watch it (you're at work or driving or whatever), this should fit the bill as a workable alternative. Just don't anticipate any unexpected insights.
As to presentation: Blackstone Publishing sound engineers do a nice job softening the natural sibilance of reader Linda Jones - but can't fully counteract her lisp-y delivery. To be sure, Jones displays praiseworthy voice-acting and a great understanding of the author's intended tone.. but doesn't impress. That annoying cadence & a complete destruction of the all-too-frequent "jump scares" in the text with baffling clueless timing turn this into a distinctly below-average performance.
Altogether, 'Halloween Ends' rates 5 stars out of 10. As a 'Plus' option, it wasn't a complete waste of time.. but - even for free - I suspect you won't enjoy it unless you enjoyed the movie. If Audible asks for a Credit, laugh in their face and keep browsing.

Better than the weak film
I hated the film. This book still has a lot of it's problems, but deepens the characters and fills out the story. So it's a much more satisfying experience than the movie....though the book's ending is a little more underwhelming.

Very Not What's Expected.
It's the same as the movie except this book has a couple extra scenes and such thrown in that tend to smoothen the shock of the movie, making this a smidge better. Still doesn't have any of the answers we want though.

Good listen
Haven’t seen the movie yet, but just like “Kills” the book gives a better understanding of the characters thoughts which don’t always come through on film. I know the movie is getting bad reviews but I think I’ll enjoy it more after listening to the story.
